Another good reason why I am not happy with President Donald Trump

Is this nutty idea that The President should be able to cancel the broadcast licenses of those in the press that he disagrees with. This is crazy talk and smacks of Hitler.

Yet, there are also plenty of conservatives and libertarian who have criticized Trump for his attack on the MSM. AP and Ed both wrote Trump was wrong in his challenge to the First Amendment. Katherine Timpf at National Review went even further, (correctly) using the “f-word,” as in fascism, in her condemnation.
Let me be clear: Calling for government control of the media is not a conservative view; it’s a fascist one. You’re fine to think that the government should control the media; you’re fine to espouse it — thanks, of course, to the First Amendment that you’re apparently totally fine with jeopardizing — but please understand that this idea is not compatible with conservative, or even traditionally American, values.
There’s no doubt the MSM has raised the dander of conservatives and libertarians, and for good reason. The newscaster plenty of people cite as an example of fair news, Walter Cronkite, wasn’t fair at all. Douglas Brinkley’s book Cronkite, written with participation from the ex-CBS News anchor’s family, showed Cronkite wasn’t biased, especially to Barry Goldwater. There’s also the stupidity of Dan Rather, who pushed the idea ex-President George W. Bush figured out a way to skip out on his service in the National Guard.
These are examples of biased press, and should cause people pause. It’s totally okay if someone decides to find another source for a story because it was written by an outlet which may or may not give someone a fair shot. That’s up to individuals, not the government. Yet, biased press is very much protected by the First Amendment. In fact, biased press is free press, whether it makes conservatives, libertarians, liberals, or socialists happy or furious. Federalists and Anti-Federalists used the press to put out their opinions on whether the Constitution should be approved. Jeffersonians used the press to get their viewpoints out to the masses.
It’s also important to remember it’s not just “conservatives” who have had issues with the press. California Senator Dianne Feinstein suggested only “real reporters” deserved to be protected in a 2013 media shield law (which should just be the First Amendment, but I digress). Her amendment thankfully failed.
But it shows both parties have issues with outlets which don’t give them favorable press, and there are politicians in both parties who want to see the press restricted. All political ideologies, especially those who believe in freedom and liberty, should reject this wholeheartedly.

If President Donald Trump thinks that he can control the media; he is very highly mistaken. I voted for this man; to tackle trade, secure the boarder and straighten out our fiscal mess. I did NOT vote for a fascist. This whole idea smacks of the German Nazi nonsense of the 1940’s and it needs to be stood up to and stopped.

This is America and here, we do not control the press, ever. End of Discussion.

On the failure of the Republicans replacement for Obamacare

I hate to be the one to say this, but, I absolutely knew that this was going to happen.

This is not to say that this sort of thing doesn’t happen all the time in Washington DC. But, the New York Times acts like it’s something rather new:

WASHINGTON — House Republican leaders, facing a revolt among conservatives and moderates in their ranks, pulled legislation to repeal the Affordable Care Act from consideration on the House floor Friday in a major defeat for President Trump on the first legislative showdown of his presidency.
“We’re going to be living with Obamacare for the foreseeable future,” the House speaker, Paul D. Ryan, conceded.
The failure of the Republicans’ three-month blitz to repeal President Barack Obama’s signature domestic achievement exposed deep divisions in the Republican Party that the election of a Republican president could not mask. It cast a long shadow over the ambitious agenda that Mr. Trump and Republican leaders had promised to enact once their party assumed power at both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue.
And it was the biggest defeat of Mr. Trump’s young presidency, which has suffered many. His travel ban has been blocked by the courts. Allegations of questionable ties to the Russian government forced out his national security adviser, Michael T. Flynn. Tensions with key allies such as Germany, Britain and Australia are high, and Mr. Trump’s approval ratings are at historic lows.

President Trump basically spells it out right here:

That my friends is how the normal government process works. It was nothing big, it was nothing devastating to the president of the United States or his presidency. It’s simply how government works.

Think maybe somebody could tell that to the liberal media?

I’m starting to think that Amanda Carpenter needs to become a Democrat

Because I hate to say it; but, she sure is starting to sound like one. she’s allowed her hatred of trump to cloud her judgment.

Look, I don’t like what Trump has done no more than anyone else; especially the attacks on Amanda. But for her to put out an article like this, is starting to make her sound like a whiny feminist liberal.

I don’t believe that Amanda should have been treated like she was. However, politics is a rough sport, it’s a contact sport and sometimes people’s egos get bruised and things happen. She should have known this, when she got involved with political punditry and got involved with government. So,the way I see it: if she can’t handle the heat, she should maybe perhaps look into getting out of the kitchen.

If I wrote about all the times, that I was attacked, not only by the liberal Democrats; but by so-called conservatives, also known as neoconservatives; over some of the things that I’ve written on my blog and have been accused of being a racist, an anti-semite and an islamophobe and many other ridiculous accusations. I would be here writing all night. Did I angry and pooch my lips out and say, “they’re picking on me!” No, I didn’t. I sucked it up and dealt with it.

Perhaps Amanda Carpenter should look into doing the same thing or get the hell out of political pundity for good. Nobody is entitled to anything; least of all some little harpy feminazi who thinks that she ought to be treated special, because she’s a woman.

This is not going to end well for the Republican Party

Good morning from Detroit.

I am awake very early this morning and I happen to be looking over the headlines here on Memeorandum.

I happen to be reading and looking at these headlines here and I cannot help but think that if, by chance that Donald Trump loses this election; that the Republican Party is going to be totally in a state of shambles for a very, very long time. I mean, even the Wealthy are now looking elsewhere and in a Republican election, that is bad…very bad. I mean, I hate to sound like a “Debbie Downer”, but this really does not look good for the Republicans at all. Because folks, let us just face the facts — There are more wealthy Republicans, than there are grassroots conservatives. The majority of the Conservative Christian Right, is presumably staying home, at least the ones I know.

The reason I say it is not looking good for the Republicans, is that they have totally invested themselves into basically a clown, a showman, an egotistical blowhard — who sues anyone that dare criticizes him. You cannot say, that the Republicans did not try, they did and it was a very valiant effort. But, you would think that they would have selected someone a bit more serious, than who they picked. Ted Cruz was dangerous. But, there were others, Rand Paul, Christie, a few others. Instead we go who we got and now we’re looking at 8 years of a criminal pantsuit.

Stolen Elections

I have to say that all of this talk about stolen elections, is quite silly. It also reminds me of something that happened in 2000. When Bush ran for election and actually beat Al Gore. I seem to remember that the left, went into utter meltdown and claimed that the election was stolen and that somehow or another Bush and Co. had arranged for the election to be decided in his favor.

This is why, when I hear about Trump supporters saying that the election will most likely be stolen from Trump; I find it to be most annoying. Because it frankly reminds me of the liberal left in 2000.

Which brings me to my point; why are the so-called “Trump Conservatives” using the same playbook as the anti-Bush crowd of 2000?

The truth is that, if Trump loses this election; it will be because of his own actions and because the Republican Party and the people behind the Trump campaign did not properly vet Donald Trump and take steps to lower the impact of things in his past. It was not the bankers fault, it was not the media’s fault and it damned sure is not Hillary Clinton’s fault. It is the fault of Donald Trump and the Republican Party of not properly vetting a candidate.

So, to the Trump campaign and supporters: Stop blaming the Jews, the media and the Republican Party. It is not their fault. It the fault of those who are supposed to be doing their jobs and making sure that no surprises came out, during the last months of the campaign. The only person to blame, is yourselves. This is on you.

The utter hypocrisy of the “Christian Right”

I have to say, the so-called “Christian Right” has fallen away from what it once was in the 1980’s. As you know, and as I blogged about at about four this morning, Trump got caught on a hot mic saying some pretty nasty stuff about a woman.

This is what amazes me to no end. The so-called “Christian Right” has pretty shrugged the shoulders and said, “Oh Well…”.

The fact that Donald Trump said in 2005 that he could grab women “by the p*ssy” because he’s famous doesn’t seem to be changing how social conservative leaders feel about him.

Evangelicals who opposed him before still aren’t fans. And the ones in his camp aren’t phased by the recording. That’s because this isn’t about how much they like the brash billionaire; it’s about how unflinching they are in their opposition to Hillary Clinton.

“People of faith are voting on issues like who will protect unborn life, defund Planned Parenthood, defend religious liberty and oppose the Iran nuclear deal,” said Ralph Reed, who heads the Faith & Freedom Coalition. “A ten-year-old tape of a private conversation with a talk show host ranks low on their hierarchy of concerns.”

This whole thing that I just quoted above, encapsulates the entire downfall and compromise of the Evangelical Christian right. Now, I happen to be 44 years old and I remember the Reagan era very well and I remember the militancy of the Christian Right. Could you imagine, if you are old enough to recall; what would have happened to Ronald Reagan, if something like that would have broken, during his bid for the Presidency? Ronald Reagan would have been shamed out of the Presidential race in an instant!

The reasoning for this reasoning of this, “eh, it happens” stance, is this:

Robert Jeffress, the pastor of First Baptist Church in Dallas and a member of Trump’s Evangelical Executive Advisory Board, said the comments were “lewd, offensive, and indefensible.”

But, he added, he’s still voting Trump. He said he moderated a meeting between the candidate and Evangelical and Catholic leaders, and he was forthright about his hesitations about Trump’s moral
“I said at that time, with Trump sitting next to me, I would not necessarily choose this man to be my child’s Sunday School teacher,” Jeffress said. “But that’s not what this election is about.”
He added that he doesn’t think Hillary Clinton is morally superior to Trump.
“Here is a woman who lied to the families of the Benghazi victims, she destroyed 33,000 emails while under subpoena, and she’s attacked the women who attacked her husband,” he said. “The fact is we’re all sinners, we all need forgiveness, and God doesn’t grade people according to their level of sin.”
And David Bozell, a Roman Catholic who heads the conservative group ForAmerica and supports Trump, said the audio won’t change how conservative voters view the candidate.
“Bill Clinton’s history of being a sexual predator, including affairs with interns, dwarfs any locker room banter,” he said. “The clip is unfortunate, but then again, we’re not electing saints in November.”

Unbelievable. The reasoning is, “Donald Trump is pretty bad; But Hillary Clinton is worse.” This is a fatal flaw and bad reasoning. It also is a sure sign of the apostasy within the ranks of the Evangelical Church.

Now, do not misunderstand me here; I am voting for Trump and I will be holding my nose. However, as a Christian and an Independent Fundamentalist Baptist; I would expect those who claim to represent me and my beliefs to at least take more of a stand on an issue much as this one.

The Clinton campaign’s wobbly performance over the past 72 hours has set off a rash of behind-the-scenes handwringing among professional Republicans as they confront an unnerving new possibility: What if their nominee actually wins the White House?
For months, the prevailing wisdom within GOP political circles has been that Donald Trump stands little chance to win in November — and a large number of the party’s consultants, fundraisers, and operatives privately preferred it that way. Though many of them are reluctant to say so in public, they argue that a Trump presidency would fracture their party, decimate the conservative movement, and wreak havoc on the global economy (not to mention their own industry).
But now, with polls tightening and Hillary Clinton’s illness temporarily sidelining her from the campaign trail, those Republicans are expressing alarm at Trump’s sudden electoral viability.
“It’s terrifying,” said one GOP consultant, who like others spoke to BuzzFeed News on condition of anonymity. “He’s not qualified … and it’s a massive problem. I’m not a fan of Hillary Clinton, but at least I feel like some of those jobs that are required for president, she could do them.”
“It would be terrible for America, and for the world,” said another Republican strategist, referring to a prospective Trump victory. “I can’t think of one good thing that would come of it.”
A third Republican said that after watching the Clinton campaign’s missteps in recent days, “I’m curled up in the fetal position watching The West Wing and drinking a basketful of deplorable liquor.”

To which I say bluntly, “Let the bastards panic.” These are the people who gave us the George W. Bush Presidency, these are the people who gave us the Iraq War and sold it as being a necessary act of freedom; which we all know now, was a load of bunk. These are the people who gave us the bailout of the big banks. These are the globalist neoconservatives; who are as about Conservative, as I am a communist. Yes, these are the fake conservatives that have run that party for many years.

Yes, let them panic, let them clutch their pearls and weep for what they are about to lose. Let them wail and moan for the foolishness that they committed during the Bush-era. Now, it is time to take our Country back from these elitist swine and give it back to the people, who work so hard to keep it.

It is stories like this one here, that make me glad that I am, and always will be a Trump supporter. I admit, there are things about Trump that I simply do not like; but to see these elitist pigs get what is coming to them, it is more than worth it to me to see Trump win this Presidency.

Robert Saunders should be not be allowed anywhere near public office

Why? Because of this sort of asinine stuff:

The campaign of a GOP candidate in Billings is in damage control mode after he suggested, on an internet discussion board, that holding office and voting might be better off limited to those who are wealthy.
“The Founding Fathers believed (rightly) that the people with the most to lose would be the least likely to screw up,” wrote 27-year-old legislative candidate Robert Saunders, who comes from a wealthy Billings family. Those without money, he went on, “are unsafe custodians” of public funds.
When members of congress are very wealthy, he explains, it shows “they are at least good at something,” (unlike the rest of us poors I guess).
Saunders says it’s no different than Corporations. Only a shareholder of a company can vote, Rob Saunders writes, hinting that perhaps there should be an asset test for voters. He says someone without personal wealth, like Bernie Sanders could be “catastrophic” and cause a result similar to what happened under the Russian Revolution that ousted the last of the Russian czars. “Our form of government was designed so that only those with a stake in the country’s future could vote,” Saunders said. “That’s why I think it’s a good thing that our leadership is relatively wealthy.”

His opponent is the popular Rep. Jessica Karjala. Voters put her in the seat that Saunders is running for in 2012. When Rep Karjala pointed out Saunders’ insane writings as she visited with voters, Saunders then (you guessed it) had an attorney sent Karjala a cease and desist letter, threatening to sue her for defamation. This sort of elitist mentality is what the Tea Party stood up against and this idiot has no business being in public office, ever. I think this progressive blog for picking this one up and writing about it. Also too, I’d like to see this rich son-of-a-bitch try and sue me for printing the truth about him. I’d eat his butt for lunch in court. Discovery is a bitch, Bob, remember that, idiot.

How the heck did this guy get elected Governor of Maine?

This is crazy…

Gov. Paul LePage left a state lawmaker from Westbrook an expletive-laden phone message Thursday in which he accused the legislator of calling him a racist, encouraged him to make the message public and said, “I’m after you.”
LePage sent the message Thursday morning after a television reporter appeared to suggest that Democratic Rep. Drew Gattine was among several people who had called the governor a racist, which Gattine later denied. The exchange followed remarks the governor made in North Berwick on Wednesday night about the racial makeup of suspects arrested on drug trafficking charges in Maine.
“Mr. Gattine, this is Gov. Paul Richard LePage,” a recording of the governor’s phone message says. “I would like to talk to you about your comments about my being a racist, you (expletive). I want to talk to you. I want you to prove that I’m a racist. I’ve spent my life helping black people and you little son-of-a-bitch, socialist (expletive). You … I need you to, just friggin. I want you to record this and make it public because I am after you. Thank you.”

Now, where I come from, that is basically a death threat. I think this guy needs to be ousted and quick. This is being worked on now, and that’s good thing.

I mean, if I did something of this nature to, say, the Governor of Michigan; I would sitting in a jail cell. The Republican Party has enough troubles with Trump, we do not need another distraction. This moron needs to go and I mean quick.

Donald Trump sics lawyers on liberal blogger for blogging about a rumor

Now, at first blush, I would normally say, “Ha Ha! He’s a liberal, he gets what’s coming to him!” However, in this case, I will refrain from much nonsense. This below is a perfect example as to why I simply refuse to blog about rumors, gossip and such.

Just so we’re being completely transparent here, you should know this:
This is being written under duress because I don’t have enough money to fight a legal battle against the Trump machine. Yesterday, I wrote a story based on Melania Trump allegedly having been an escort or paid sex worker when she arrived in New York. A few hours later, the owner of Liberal America received an email threatening us with legal action if we didn’t do as the Trump attorneys instructed — remove the “false statements.” So this is my apology.
First of all, I’m very very sorry that I wrote an article about the past of Melania Trump. I got my information from reputable sources and reported on what was being reported there, but apparently that isn’t good enough to pass muster in the version of American freedom of the press envisioned by Mr. Trump and his team of legal vultures.
Additionally, I’m also sorry that the personal image of the wannabe first lady is so insecure that she feels the need to send her legal hell-hounds chasing after small, independent journalists such as me. I had no idea I was such a threat to the Trump campaign or family. Imagine my surprise.

But most of all I’m sorry that in Donald and Melania Trump’s view of how this republic works, they think it’s in keeping with the spirit of the First Amendment to threaten, intimidate, and harass reporters. Just the fact that they immediately felt the need to get lawyers involved proves that they don’t believe in preserving, protecting, or defending the Constitution, even though every President has to make a pledge to do so when he or she takes the oath of office. In Donald Trump’s world, the Constitution only applies to those who can afford to hire expensive legal mouthpieces.

It is quite telling about Trump isn’t it?
