In this edition of the Reality Report Gary Franchi covers a story on the banker bailout payback extension, a victory over socialized healthcare in Virginia, a story on the new facial recognition hardware that could be headed to your local police station. Footage from the Lewis burglary is shown with exclusive footage from the new film “Don’t Tread On Me”.
I thought it was a decent interview, there was not ugliness that is known from these two sometimes. Most of it was played up for the Camera. However, all in all, I thought it was well done.
Once again, after criticizing Sarah Palin, I am forced into a rather uncomfortable position of defending her. I am, of course, referring to the inconceivably asinine blog posting by a one Faux Conservative Andrew Sullivan that I happen to read about over at Robert Stacy McCain’s blog. Now I will spare my readers a lowbrow attack of the man’s sexual preferences, I will leave that sort of nonsense to other people. However, I will bring up the fact that this man should be deported from our Country, as he does have a horrible drug habit.
Now to get to the part that I really want to write about —- As some of you know, I live with my parents, it sucks, yes, it is quite lame, and yes, I do hate it. I love my parents; I just wish I did not have to see them everyday. However, it is my situation and I deal with it the best that I can, and we do get along unbelievably well. Now to my point —— someone else lives in this house, with me and my parents. Her name is Martha Hayes. Martha Hayes is my Mom’s middle sister — Mom being oldest, Martha being the middle sister and her other sister Shirley being the youngest. Martha is disabled, Martha is mentally retarded, or as the politically correct police like to call it, developmentally disabled.
You see, Sullivan’s comment struck me as the a-typical cynical beltway politico type of comment from someone who has never had a person like this in his or her family. While I might not be a huge fan of Sarah Palin, in a political sense, it has never been personal with me and because of this, I have always avoided criticizing her family or kids or even her husband. Admittedly, I was not amused when Sarah’s daughter came up pregnant; mainly because I felt she had betrayed many in the Conservative Christian community and in the social Conservative circles. However, this comment by Andrew Sullivan goes well beyond what I feel is just acceptable criticism of Sarah Palin’s politics; this is borderline psychotic obsession with Sarah Palin and her child Trigg. I believe that if the Atlantic had any shred of decency, they would terminate his employment.
Because you see my friends, I understand Sarah Palin’s feelings towards her baby. I know what it is to have a disabled person living with you. I see it every day in this house. It is not for the faint of heart, it take a special someone to have to deal with the person and have to do the tough work. Admittedly, it is not something that I could ever do. My Mom, bless her heart, does it every day, without complaining. She does it because it is the right thing to do. We are our Brother and Sister’s keeper, and my Mom knows that, Her Mother knew it too, when she raised those three daughters without complaining.
So, when it comes to Sarah Palin and her child, count me as someone who does get it.

Individuals at extremely high risk of developing psychosis appear less likely to develop psychotic disorders following a 12-week course of fish oil capsules containing long-chain omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, according to a report in the February issue of Archives of General Psychiatry, one of the JAMA/Archives journals.
“Early treatment in schizophrenia and other psychoses has been linked to better outcomes,” the authors write as background information in the article. “Given that subclinical psychotic symptoms may predict psychotic disorder and psychosis proneness in a population may be related to the rate of psychotic disorder, intervention in at-risk individuals holds the promise of even better outcomes, with the potential to prevent full-blown psychotic disorders.”
Long-chain omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids are a promising intervention in individuals with schizophrenia, who may have an underlying dysfunction in fatty acid metabolism, the authors note. G. Paul Amminger, M.D., of Medical University of Vienna, Austria, and Orygen Youth Health Research Centre, Melbourne, Australia, conducted a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial of their effect on the risk of progression to psychosis in 81 individuals at ultra–high risk. These individuals either had mild psychotic symptoms, transient psychosis or a family history of psychotic disorders plus a decrease in functioning. These criteria identify individuals whose risk of becoming psychotic may be as high as 40 percent in a 12-month period.
For 12 weeks, 41 individuals were assigned to take daily fish oil capsules containing 1.2 grams of omega-three polyunsaturated fatty acids and 40 were assigned to take placebo; a total of 76 (93.8 percent) completed the intervention. By the end of the study, two (4.9 percent) in the omega-3 group and 11 (27.5 percent) in the placebo group had transitioned to psychotic disorder. The difference between progression to psychosis was 22.6 percent.

PITTSBURGH (AP) – A San Francisco man claims he was high on a double dose of medical marijuana cookies when he screamed, dropped his pants and attacked crew members on a cross-country flight, forcing its diversion to Pittsburgh, the FBI said Wednesday.
Kinman Chan, 30, was charged in a criminal complaint with interfering with the duties of a flight attendant on allegations that he fought with crew members of US Airways Flight 1447 from Philadelphia to Los Angeles on Sunday. His federal public defender, Jay Finkelstein, declined to comment.
Crew members said Chan made odd gestures before he entered the plane's rear restroom shortly after takeoff and began to scream, according to the complaint.
Chan told the FBI that he “came back to reality” and exited the restroom, at which point the crew noticed his “pants were down, his shirt was untucked and all the compartments in the restroom were opened.”
When crew members tried to get Chan to sit, he fought them and had to be subdued in a choke hold, the complaint said.
Chan told agents who interviewed him in Pittsburgh that he ate marijuana cookies while waiting for his flight to depart in Philadelphia.
“Chan advised he has a medical marijuana card and he took double his normal dose,” the complaint said.
Margaret Philbin, a spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney’s office in Pittsburgh, said Chan has a legally issued medical marijuana card for a “legitimate” health issue, which she declined to identify.
Good grief, what was in that stuff? Chronic? Neon Green? Must have been some good stuff to make a guy act that crazy. 😀 😯

So, to Robert Stacy McCain. I apologize for flying off the handle. I do that sometimes. I have an excuse — a very weak one, but it’s an excuse. My left shoulder/Arm/Neck area has been KILLING ME, for the last few days. I’ve been a bit grumpy as a result of it. Quite Bluntly; This shit hurts like hell. I am not really sure what I did, I believe I slept funny or something. This has happened before and yes, it was very painful. Took a few days for me to get over it.
So, to ALL of his friends — NO I am not going to turn into another asshole stalker with a hard on for RSM. I just felt it a bit fishy, I still do. I just do not really know Stacy all that well and I assumed something. It happens.

I hate having to do it. However, I believe in standing up for one’s convictions. Therefore, if you look in my Blogroll section, you will see that I removed two names. I did this because I am sick and tired of the little game being played by a Blogger, of whom I will never link to again; the game is this, if you do not support Sarah Palin, I will not link to you or anything. I requested some help and was told barefaced lie; all because I happen to think, Sarah Palin is an idiot dolt. I hate to be a prick about it, but two can play that game. Therefore, In essence, I am cutting bait with him and his crowd. Oh, I am not joining the left. I am just going to be quite selective whom I associate myself with from now on. I may do some more removing of names that I really do not feel comfortable having on my blog. I tried the “Do not harm” approach and I see it is getting me nowhere. That is, because if you do not fit in with their little clan, (or should I say Klan?) you are ignored, lied to, and so forth.
I tried to be the nice person, I tried to look past other people’s opinions; but it just did not work. Therefore, I am done with it. From here on out, I am looking out for me and myself only. Screw the rest of them.

Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Danny Williams is set to undergo heart surgery this week in the United States.
CBC News confirmed Monday that Williams, 60, left the province earlier in the day and will have surgery later in the week.
The premier’s office provided few details, beyond confirming that he would have heart surgery and saying that it was not necessarily a routine procedure.
