Sounds like a good idea to me: Tax the Churches!

Just reacting to this here.

Of course, I do not mean all of them.

Just the ones making over 250K a year in income and the ones that choose to be politically active.

Any church making less than 250K would not be taxed.

Just my idea. For the record, I am not against Church; I am against excess and greed. I am also against those who abuse the Bible; using it as a get rich scheme. I am, of course, referring to the “prosperity gospel” garbage, that is common in Pentecostal circles.

I figure, if a church is turning that kind of Cash they can afford to pay their share of taxes.

UPDATE: Glenn Reynolds is wrong

I saw this last night and I did not care to blog about it. But, for the sake of having something to blog about; I will.

Glenn Reynolds lost his credibility with me, when he posted this rather idiotic screed saying that he should resign because law enforcement came to the man’s house who produced the now infamous video.  As much as I understand the concept of freedom of speech, and as much as I understand the fallout from it. Also, as much as I know President Obama’s handling of the situation was horrible and how bad it is that embassies had no Marine protection. The point is this: Obama did not create this entire mess at all. Obama did not shoot that video and he did not mock the Muslims; someone else did. In fact, it was a Coptic Christian with a bug up his rear about Muslims.  This same Coptic Christian had audacity to attempt to pawn himself off as a Jewish person as well; which was, in the word of a well-known Jewish blogger, a blood libel.

The Saturday Night Music Express Presents: Jimi Hendrix

I have made it no secret on this blog and my old one; that I am, in fact, a die-hard Jimi Hendrix fan. A good part of who and what I am today is because of this man’s music. The biggest thing that I learned from Hendrix and his music was to never accept what is told to you. Always question everything; and believe you me, I do. 🙂

Are you shocked? 😉 😯

This is from 1970. This Jimi live at the Isle of Wight Concert. This is the Movie Presentation of “Wild Blue Angel”.

Please note: If you have a nice sound system or headphones. This would be a good time to put it or them, on and turn it up. 😀

Jimi Hendrix, more than anything else — was the sound of 1960’s America. He set the bar and everyone else tried like heck to sound, look and play like him.

Enjoy the music and enjoy your weekend.

Rick Santorum explains why he will never, ever be President of the United States

Mister Rick “I am a Catholic Statist and I want everyone to believe just like I do” Santorum once again proves why he is unfit to serve in the office of President of the United States of America

Santorum also criticized the libertarian wing of the Republican party for not supporting what he sees as the pillars of conservatism: religion and family.

“When it comes to conservatism libertarian types can say, oh, well you know, we don’t want to talk about social issues,” Santorum said. “Without the church and the family, there is no conservative movement, there is no basic values of America.”

via Buzzfeed: Rick Santorum: Conservatives Will “Never Have The Elite, Smart People On Our Side”.

That above that I quoted is why Santorum will never be President of the United States at all.  Rick Santorum wants to have a Christian version of Al-Qaeda in America. One that is intolerant of any other religions or lifestyles other than the one that he chooses to follow.  This is why we have Mitt Romney as the Republican candidate for President of the United States.

Rick Santorum was so horrible when he was running for President that even some in the Conservative Blogosphere became annoyed by him.  Not to mention that every time someone would criticize his religion or his social conservatism or say anything remotely critical of his family; he would really act like annoying jerk and come off with this smug papist attitude and belittle anyone who dared to criticize him.

Which is precisely why I am voting for Mitt Romney. Yes, I know, he is a Mormon and Yes, I know, I am a Independent, Fundamentalist, Baptist. Yes, I know, I disagree with the Mormonism, very much so. In fact, I reject it as a valid form of Christianity. However, the last time I checked; I was not voting for the President of the Mormon Church. I am, however, voting for the President of the United States of America. Mitt Romney is the Republican candidate for President and he has my vote. If for anything at all, to go against the anti-Mormon bigotry in this Country and the hate on the left. Plus too, I think Romney will help bring this Country back to the greatness that it once was known for, prior to the idiocy that is known as Barack Obama and the Democratic Party.

Furthermore, the last time I checked; Mitt Romney was not trying to to shove his Mormonism down anyone’s throat either, nor was he persecuting those who simply want to see fiscal sanity return to this Country. Unlike Santorum, who wants to see a “Christian America,” whatever that is; Romney simply wants to stop the runaway Government and stave off a fiscal crisis.

Despite my reservations about Romney being a Neoconservative. I too could be wrong about that too.  I believe that honor might be solely Paul Ryan’s. However, I believe that Mitt Romney has his own mind and I do not believe that Romney will allow himself to be used by Israel or any other Country for that matter. If I am wrong about that, and Romney is elected and proceeds to pursue an agenda that puts Israel before America, that I will admit that I was wrong. Until then, I am hedging my bets.

My feeling is this; if Mitt Romney can pull this Nation at least half way back to what it was prior to the housing crisis and Wall Street crisis. If Romney can work to making it easier for Businesses and for those who want to start a small business; then he will done more than this current President.

About Santorum and with this I will conclude: Santorum needs to find a job with the Roman Catholic Church and get his nose out of politics. The Republican Party and the Conservative movement already has tried the social Conservative route; it was in the 1980’s and it was called the God and Country movement. A very wrong-headed movement, that, in the end, caused more problems for the Christian World than it ever solved. Because of this concentration on social issues, rather than fiscal ones, is why this Country of ours is headed for the fiscal cliff.

Yes! Someone smart comes out and says it

I have been thinking along these same lines.

Via The Christian Post

WASHINGTON – An evangelical professor who was part of a summit on foreign policy held at Georgetown University believes that evangelicals should avoid “Muslim-baiting.”
David Gushee, founder of the organization Evangelicals for Human Rights and professor at Mercer University, told The Christian Post that evangelicals should not participate in projects like the anti-Muhammad film that sparked violent protests in the Middle East.

“We certainly need to have no participation in what you might call ‘Muslim-baiting.’ If we know that attacks on the character of the prophet Muhammad evoke predictably violent reactions, it’s just foolish and unwise and immoral,” said Gushee.

“You want to avoid such things from happening and we need to quarantine out of our community this kind of Muslim-baiting that is happening on our fringes.”

Gushee also told CP that the violence by reactionary Islamic mobs in Libya and Egypt should never be considered justified in their actions.

“We also need to say that random killings of westerners or Americans or Christians because some foolish person somewhere made a film about Muhammad are wrong too,” he said. “Outbursts of randomly directed violence against people who were not involved with the provocation are unjustifiable and must be condemned.”

My feelings about the religion itself aside; the fact of reality is that there are peaceful Muslims here in America and putting these videos out does nothing provoke overseas Muslims to rage, which in turn makes American Muslims look horrible.

It is a sticky situation at best. The question is how does one respond?

About look change

Change?!?! Someone said change?!?! Aaaaah! 😯

I kid, I kid. 😀

Some of you might have noticed that I changed the header photo and the background too. I can do that rather easily now in WordPress without pulling out any of my hair. So, I decided to change things up a bit.

The reason was, well, the site looked a bit…. well, old. I am 40 years old and that old business is great for history and such, but when you’re a bit young for the old fogies look; it gets a bit rough.

So, I changed things up a bit. Put some brighter colors up there. A little pizzazz, if you want to call it that. The last thing I want is a drab looking blog. I mean, I like Jeff’s writings and all; but jebus is that site of his ever drab looking.  I mean, I do not want any sort of seizure inducing stuff; you know something like out of a scary clown horror movie or anything. But, a little color is okay.

I also put a provocative header photo up there. A little swift kick to the jewels of the Democrats and President Obama. I am an agent provocateur for the right, are I not? After all, they did screw this Country into the ground; not to mention what is happening right now.

Is is the age-old argument, and I have heard both sides; content versus design. I believe that a good balance is possible. So, I’ll try this for a while. Once I am happy with it, I will leave it be.

Video: Michelle Malkin to White House: These optics suck White House!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y35S4Oua8vI&hd=1

A few questions from a Non-Wilsonian Conservative:

  1. Where was all this outrage when it was discovered that President George W. Bush invaded Iraq based upon bad information from Germany?
  2. Does Malkin realize that the entire “Arab Spring” was started, when Bush invaded Iraq? Best thing that people like her can say in response is, “Blame Bush, Blame Bush….” Well, in this case, his blame is due.

Now, do not misunderstand me here. This is a huge blunder by the White House, and the fallout is getting worse by the minute. I mean, now several Christian Colleges are now being threatened.  However, I believe to pin the blame entirely on the Obama Administration is cheap political theater really.

As for Romney, I believe the media is making hay over that issue, a bit too much. But, he did jump the gun too quickly, I believe.

Furthermore, as a Non-Wilsonian Conservative, I say the following:

  1. This is nothing more than living proof, that the United States of America needs to get the hell out of United Nations and order them out of this Country.
  2. This is living proof that the United States needs to close these idiotic embassies in these Countries that are not necessarily friendly to the United States, and stop having American forces, of any sort, in those Countries.
  3. This is proof that Islam is not a peaceful Religion or political philosophy, and as I wrote before, should be banned in the United States and those that practice it, should be given two choices; convert or leave.
  4. This, if anything, should be proof that, as noted for a long time, by Anti-Jihadi bloggers for years; that the attacks on 9/11 were a declaration of a Religious War between the Judeo-Christian values of the west and of the United States and the backward Islāmic values of the middle east. These attacks this week are a continuation of that War.  Now, if we do pull out, will that war stop? Most likely not. But, I believe that they will subside and the parties will begin fighting one another. Furthermore, if they attack the US on our soil, then we will have a legit excuse for War. Right now, we do not. We are in their lands.

In closing: I want it to be clear, this is not just a posting to knee-cap Michelle Malkin. But it is rather my personal take on what some on the right are saying about this whole thing. I realize it is an election year and all. But, we should not allow ourselves to be duped into blaming one person or President Administration for the events of the past week.

The truth is that what is happening now in the middle east is a result of many years of Wilsonian stupidity from many Presidential Administrations and an utter failure by many in Government that Islam is just incompatible with western values, constitutional freedoms and general social decency.

This is a very important lesson, and the quicker that those in our Government and Governments to come figure this out, the better things will be for this Country.

Two perfect examples of not helping our cause

I hate to have to point stuff like this out. But, my goodness, it is pretty hard not to see it.

The first is the idiotic crap out of Kansas:

Three of the state’s top elected Republicans on Thursday determined they lacked sufficient evidence of President Barack Obama’s birth records to decide whether to remove the Democratic nominee from the November ballot in Kansas.

The State Objections Board comprised of Secretary of State Kris Kobach, Attorney General Derek Schmidt and Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer postponed until Monday action on a complaint filed by a Manhattan resident pending review of a copy of Obama’s birth certificate from Hawaii.

“I don’t think it’s a frivolous objection,” Kobach said. “I do think the factual record could be supplemented.”

Requests were to be sent to officials in Hawaii, Arizona and Mississippi in an attempt to secure copies of the president’s birth records. Obama released a copy of his birth certificate last year, but detractors persist in advancing “birther” arguments that the Democrat lacked standing.

Removal of Obama’s name in Kansas — a state certain to side with Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney — would be strange given the president’s mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, and maternal grandparents, Stanley and Madelyn Dunham, were Kansas natives.

As much as I can sympathize with these people; we just do not need to run on this issue. Why? Because we do not need to. As it is right now, Obama’s record on the economy, the middle east and the Federal Reserve is enough to get him unseated in the fall. So, while this might be a legit issue for some; it just does not make sense to go this route at all.

Speaking of unneeded silliness; ElRushBo is yowling again:

The Video:

The quote via Solon.com:

What if Ayman al-Zawahiri and other al-Qaida leaders gave up Osama Bin Laden for the express purpose  of making Obama look good? Giving Obama stature, political capital. Obama got Osama! I mean really, do you think al-Qaida depends on Osama Bin Laden any more, like it did?… So they give him him, they give away his location. We go in, SEAL Team 6, Obama puffs up… Keep him in power, furthers the cause… Do you think the militant Islamists will be as hopeful of getting rid of Israel with a Republican president or with a Democrat president? Just throwing it out there.

Oh Rush, is this really necessary? We are already whuppin’ the left’s butt right now, with all that is happening, that I listed above. Is it entirely necessary to go all stupid like this? I think not. While I realize that Limbaugh likes to be an operator in the arena of the absurd, I think this sort of absurdity does nothing for Mitt Romney and the Republican’s chances of winning the election in November. Yeah, I know the polls say and most of the time, they are not really accurate.

In Closing: Ya’ll ain’t helping at all; and please, cut it out. 🙄

The fallout continues

The fallout from the embassy attacks is continuing.

Some on the left now are even upset about it.

Video via Gateway Pundit:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOnQJehP_is

Now there comes word, via one of the most liberal papers in the U.K., that the State Department actually knew that these attacks were coming, and did absolutely nothing:

The killings of the US ambassador to Libya and three of his staff were likely to have been the result of a serious and continuing security breach, The Independent can reveal.

American officials believe the attack was planned, but Chris Stevens had been back in the country only a short while and the details of his visit to Benghazi, where he and his staff died, were meant to be confidential.

The US administration is now facing a crisis in Libya. Sensitive documents have gone missing from the consulate in Benghazi and the supposedly secret location of the “safe house” in the city, where the staff had retreated, came under sustained mortar attack. Other such refuges across the country are no longer deemed “safe”.

Some of the missing papers from the consulate are said to list names of Libyans who are working with Americans, putting them potentially at risk from extremist groups, while some of the other documents are said to relate to oil contracts.

According to senior diplomatic sources, the US State Department had credible information 48 hours before mobs charged the consulate in Benghazi, and the embassy in Cairo, that American missions may be targeted, but no warnings were given for diplomats to go on high alert and “lockdown”, under which movement is severely restricted.

 — Read the rest at the U.K. Independent

Of course, the Obama Administration is in denial mode, via The Politico:

The Obama administration is flatly denying a blaring British newspaper report that the U.S. diplomats in Libya were killed as a result of a “continuing security breach,” and that “credible information” about possible attacks had been ignored.

A U.S. official told POLITICO: “There’s no intelligence indicating that the attack in Benghazi was premeditated.”

[…]

Shawn Turner, spokesman for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, emailed: “This is absolutely wrong. We are not aware of any actionable intelligence indicating that an attack on the U.S. Mission in Benghazi was planned or imminent.”

The guys over at Powerline are not buying it at all:

Of course, the Independent story didn’t say that the Obama administration had “actionable intelligence indicating that an attack on the U.S. Mission in Benghazi was planned or imminent.” It said that “the US State Department had credible information 48 hours before mobs charged the consulate in Benghazi, and the embassy in Cairo, that American missions may be targeted,” but did nothing to step up security. The administration’s denial does not contradict the Independent’s statement, and the fact that the denial is phrased so narrowly suggests that the Independent’s report is, in fact, accurate.

[…]

So the Obama administration is already in cover-up mode. Note how willing administration spokesmen are to take absurd positions, secure in the knowledge that reporters will help them with their cover-up.

I can tell you this; the fallout from this is going to be great. I believe this little incident right here and the fact that embassy works were unguarded like this will be amplified during this election cycle and it might just cost Barack Obama the election. I realize Romney might not have handled the situation the greatest. But this here is nothing more than a dereliction of duty.

Sarah Palin over on Hannity weighed in as well:

For once, I actually agree with Sarah Palin. I also agree with the fact that this bogus movie was not the cause of these attacks. These attacks were pre-planned and this movie just happened to be out there and it was used, by these terrorists, as a cover for their actions. The sad fact folks is this, the United States of America and more broadly; The West is involved in a Religious War, between Christianity and Islam. The people over at Gates of Vienna, Robert Spencer at Jihad Watch, and Pamela Geller at Atlas Shrugs, and others have been covering this for a very long time. The sad truth is that those who point to these sites and just dismiss them as hatemongers are just willfully blind to the danger that Islam is for this Country. The Nation should have realized this after 9/11, but because we had a President who wanted to remain Islam-friendly; the truth was ignored.

Furthermore, as a Christian, allow me to say this; Islam is an intolerant Religion and should be totally outlawed in America. There are extremist Christians in America, there is no denying that. But the last time, I checked, they were not as well funded as these people are. (and before anybody mentions him, Timothy McVeigh was not a Christian! Nor was he well-funded…) This is not a Religion anyways, it is a political philosophy, intermingled with a fascist religion and should be eliminated from this Country. If you are offended at this, tough crap; because the facts are that there is no such thing as peaceful Muslim. There are Muslims who choose to fight Jihad, and there are those who refrain from it. Because of this, America will never be safe at all. Call me a bigot, call me a hater, call me an A-hole; I really do not care. But America is going to learn this lesson of what Islam really is, one way or another. It really is too bad that more people are going to have to die, before the United States Government gets a clue and finally wakes up to this threat.

As a compassionate human being, I hate to think that people would actually be so ate up with their religion that they would act in this manner. However, as a realist; I have to go with my gut feelings and with what I see and all I see is this that is happening.

The sick part is, the way this Nation is headed at the moment, we will most like be too darned broke to even deal with the situation much less even fight it. It is a depressing state of affairs, which is why I try to avoid writing about it, because it just makes me sad and depressed to watch it all happen.

There is my statement, quote me, if you wish. Please, just be aware of this here. Thanks.
