Senator Claire McCaskill said What?!?!?

This also comes via HotAir.com and yes, via Ed Morrissey: (I only link to this one, because like Ed, My jaw went “CLANK!” when I saw this…)

Transcript:

BOB SCHIEFFER, “FACE THE NATION”: Do either of you at this point think there’s a chance that we would have to put U.S. troops in there or that we would want to?

SEN. CLAIRE MCCASKILL (D-MISSOURI): I don’t think you want to ever rule it out because I think this is, kind of, as — as Saxby said, this thing has really deteriorated, and it’s not really at a tipping point. So I don’t think you ever want to say absolutely not. Obviously, we don’t want to do that unless it’s absolutely necessary.

Do either of these two ding-a-lings have any idea what kind of troop commitment that would take? I mean, Syria is a huge Country and we would be fighting all sorts of people. (You know, kind of like….um, Iraq?)

Ed Morrissey sums it up:

We might be able to prevent that with a large-scale invasion and an equally large-scale occupation that lasts a decade or more, if we can get enough NATO members to come along with us and sell it to a Congress that has been acting as though Iraq was a huge mistake. That would include having to quell any insurgencies from Jabhat al-Nusra or related groups, along with fighting Hezbollah again. Anyone up for that kind of commitment? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Funny how the same Democrats who were all like, “The War lost and we need to come home!” during Presidency of George W. Bush are the same ones who are now all, “A yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!” when it comes to Syria and Obama.  I think that some voices of sanity on the left really need to speak up right about now and tell these people, “Um, Folks? We tried that in Iraq and our butts are still sore and we lost like a bunch of people. Lets not do that, okay?

This also proves a few things that I always did suspect; that the Anti-War movement, among the beltway Democrats; unlike the real grassroots Progressive anti-war movement —- was nothing more than an Anti-Bush partisan pet cause. Which quickly dried up once Obama was in office.  I am thinking that Bush knew this and this is why he would not cave to their demands, despite the fact that there was no WMD’s.

To be fair, I have always suspected that Libya was a partisan pet cause among the Republicans; which explains why it never gained in traction in Congress at all.  I mean, there were obviously some mistakes made; but the way the Republicans have drummed that story up, and yes, I do mean via Fox News —- makes me think it falls among partisan lines.  True, many Military people and grassroots Conservatives are concerned about it and rightly so. The Republicans simply made it their pet cause and will in 2014 and 2016; you watch. This is until it starts to generate backlash and they quickly drop it; like when they are elected. Again, watch what happens. I know the game, I have been around it long enough.

Idiot Dubai Arab picks the wrong woman to try and rape!

This is too awesome and the feel good story of the day!

An off-duty U.S. navy sailor wrestled a Dubai bus driver to the ground and beat him into submission after he tried to rape her at knifepoint on Jan. 19, a courtroom heard Wednesday.

The woman, 28, was on 24-hour shore leave in Dubai when she was attacked by a bus driver after he picked her up from the Mall of the Emirates shopping center.

“I noticed he did not take the main road and when I asked him he told me not to worry,” she said, according to the Daily Mail.

He then stopped where several other buses were parked and tried to kiss her. After she refused, he pulled out a knife and tried to rape her.

Prosecutors said that she knocked the knife from his hand, broke it in two, bit him in the hand, forced him to the ground and locked him between her thighs, the Daily Mail reports.

The man, known as K S, has been charged with attempted rape, threatening to kill, assault and consuming alcohol illegally, the Daily Mail reports.

Another good reason why I do not vote Democratic Party any longer

Because nothing says asshole and anti-American more than taking a horrible tragic event and using it to score a pathetic political point.

If the tables were turned and this event happened in a LIBERAL part of the Country and a Conservative or libertarian, like myself, printed such tripe; we would be excoriated from one end of the blogosphere to the other. Not to mention the media!  However, because explosion happened in Texas, which is Rick Perry country, and it is printed on a Liberal rag blog; it is business as usual.

Here, go read this idiot’s tripe and go let him know what you think about it.

Quote:

Google Maps satellite view of West Fertilizer and its proximity to West Middle School, along with many houses and apartments.

Who needs pesky safety regulations or zoning laws when there is money to made running a fertilizer plant? Sadly, the small Texas town of West, which is just north of Waco, is suffering the consequences of unregulated free enterprise today, as a massive explosion at West Fertilizer has leveled much of the town. Perhaps the only remotely fortunate aspect of this tragedy is that it occurred at 8 pm local time and so West Middle School, which burned after the explosion, was not full of children.

A look at the satellite image above shows the folly of putting “free enterprise” ahead of sensible zoning laws. At almost 20 miles north of Waco, Texas, one thing that is in abundance in the region is open space (I’ve driven past this spot several times in the last two or three years–it’s desolate), and yet this fertilizer plant is immediately adjacent to a large apartment building (see the photo at the top of this article for how that building fared in the explosion) and very close to a middle school. There is no reason at all for any other building to be within two or three miles of a facility that produces material that is so explosive.

For the record, this blog used to be hosted by some hate-mongering, blonde, bimbo, bitch; who wrote some screen play to a movie that hit it big back in the 1990’s. That is her claim to fame; and with that money, she started this blog. It is filled with hate-mongers like this woman here and an Anti-Semite Italian idiot, who is named TBogg AKA Tom Boggioni; whom I have went after before, because of his hate-mongering shit on that site. It now appears that this woman, is no longer with them; gee, I wonder why? 🙄

I am just going to say it to these idiots and the people who read those blogs; fellas it’s like this here — you are NOT doing your Party any favors for 2014 and 2016. I am an independent blogger and voter; I vote the issues and the person’s ability to lead the Country. Your man up in the White House, he ain’t worth a shit! Which is why I did not vote for him, either damned time. However, my vote is up for grabs in 2014 and 2016. I think you need to think long and very hard about doing dumb shit like this and you want to know why?  Because there are many, many undecided voters out there, that see stuff like this; especially in Texas, and they see what you write.

This is doing zero for your chances in 2014 and 2016. Simply put, you are on the wrong side of this issue and I think you need to reconsider the mocking of an accident that claimed the lives of that many people and injured that many people. It is lame, it is stupid and it will not do anything for you in the upcoming elections. Now, you can ignore me, all you want to; I really do not care. But, I happen to know a bit about this political game; and I have been right before. I suggest that you pull that posting and post and huge apology to those who you have offended, especially the Democratic Party of Texas; which is one of your bigger voting blocs by the way.

Here is a good way to get sued

He is making a good point, but this guy is literally begging to get sued by someone.

VERNAL — When George Burnett first set up shop in Vernal, he knew he had to find away to connect with his adopted community if his custom seat cover business was going to survive.

So, armed with a sandwich board emblazoned with the phrase “Honk If You (Heart) Drilling!,” Burnett took to the corner of 500 East and Main Street and began his one-man crusade to boost the spirit of a community that was getting its first glimpse of another oil and gas bust.

Fast-forward nearly five years and Burnett — now a local celebrity for his tireless support of the Uintah Basin’s energy industry — has launched a new business that’s earning rave reviews just weeks after opening its doors.

“I love this place. I will support this place with every fiber of my being,” said Corey Peterson, a personal trainer who stopped by the I Love Drilling Juice & Smoothie Bar on Monday morning for a thick, green drink filled with avocado, spinach and fresh apple juice.

“It’s a good place to come for lunch,” added customer Shauna Snow, “or for a good snack that’s healthy, not processed and also can give you good nutrients.”

But there is one thing about Burnett’s latest venture that’s left some folks with a bitter taste in their mouths.

“I’m very open about it, very public about it, that I’m going to charge them a little bit more, and I have liberals come in and pay the extra dollar surcharge,” Burnett said, referring to his unique pricing structure.

via Liberal tax leaves bitter taste in some smoothie drinkers’ mouths | ksl.com.

Charging one price to a conservative and another one to a liberal? That is grounds for a discrimination lawsuit. I wonder, would he charge a black man one price and a white man another? The point is, you charge everyone the same or you don’t stay in business, at least not for very long. I am just waiting for some black liberal to come into that shop and get charge a higher price. The lawsuit would be good!

Stupid Conservatives. This is why I quite supporting them. 🙄 Especially when they started lying to the people that voted for them.

How ironic is it?

That the family of this kid writes this below?:

Aaron’s death is not simply a personal tragedy. It is the product of a criminal justice system rife with intimidation and prosecutorial overreach. Decisions made by officials in the Massachusetts U.S. Attorney’s office and at MIT contributed to his death. The US Attorney’s office pursued an exceptionally harsh array of charges, carrying potentially over 30 years in prison, to punish an alleged crime that had no victims. Meanwhile, unlike JSTOR, MIT refused to stand up for Aaron and its own community’s most cherished principles.

But, yet, progressives still want and advocate for big Government. This just does not make any sense to me, at all. When will the progressives finally wake and realize that the Government, is not your friend at all. Most likely, when it is too late and ALL of our freedoms are taken from us.

Updated: More stupidity at HotAir.com

I happen to be reading over at HotAir.com. I don’t read there as much as I used to; but every now and again, I make my way over and read about what the neocons are ranting about in the post election.

Anyhow, I happen to come about this posting done by Mary K. Ham in which she goes on about the words of the President of the Chicago Teachers Union. Now, let me preface this with the following: I know that the Chicago Unions, and Chicago politics is bad news, no matter how you slice it. The thug tactics of the public sector unions in Chicago and Wisconsin were and still are deplorable. I do not support some of the violence that the SEIU and others partook in; in fact, I wrote about it, on my old blog.

However, something else bugs me about this posting, in fact, it kind of pisses me the hell off. Mary Ham did something else, that I thought might have been a bit above her; but it seems to me that I might have been wrong about that. Mary Ham takes a swipe at this black woman, because of her weight, not to mention the stuff that is being said in the comments section.

Which leads me to my main point: We can disagree on politics, and on unions, that is fine, that is what America is all about. But, mocking someone’s weight problem is just low class and I hate to say it this, but it most be said. Mary Ham, if you think that mocking somebody’s weight, even nuanced like that —- is funny or even remotely Christian; you are very highly mistaken. Also too, you might be young and pretty now; but there is coming a day, when you will age, and you won’t be able to pimp yourself out as Hotair.com’s resident MILF any longer.

Furthermore, this so-called Christian bashing of those who neocons disagree with, is one of the biggest reasons why I no longer associate myself with the Christian Right or with the so-called “Church World” any longer.

Update #2: Earlier, I had a picture of me making an obscene gesture, which I felt was totally justified, seeing what Mary Ham wrote in her posting. However, after further reflection and after spending a little time in my devotions. I felt I should remove it. As I wrote here, I am not a perfect Christian at all. However, I think sometimes that I could represent my beliefs a bit better. So, I took it down. My feelings about neoconservative Christian Right, the so-called “Church World,” and HotAir.com writers and commenters remain unchanged.

It is no wonder that I no longer wish to call myself a Conservative, between stupidity like this, and Republicans straight up lying to the voters, why would I call myself one?

Update: I went over and checked and sure enough, AllahPundit deleted my trackback, like he always does. Like the little sorry butt coward that he is. This just proves to me what I have known about that site for a very long time. They can dole out the criticism of the left, but if someone dares criticize them; they cover all traces of it. Which is so very typical of the right anymore. 🙄

What exactly is the point of doing this?

I wrote about the paper that did this, I believe, however, that it was lost in the server move.

Anyhow, what is the point of doing this? Just to be seen? What? It is stupid and makes no sense, then again, neither do most Democrats today:

Last month, the Journal News sparked a firestorm of protest when it published a mappable database of every licensed gun owner in Westchester and Rockland counties, north of New York City. The paper obtained the data—which New York state law explicitly and unambiguously demands be made public—through open records requests. The reaction was swift and furious—gun rights and privacy advocates published the names and addresses of the paper’s editors in retaliation, and the paper (ironically) hired armed guards to protect against threats.

One weird reaction came from TV wraith Ann Coulter, who told Fox News’ Sean Hannity last week: “If we’re producing lists of gun permit owners, I want them for Manhattan. I want to know how many rich liberals with their body guards have gun permits.” You’re in luck, Ann. I happened to have just such a list in my filing cabinet. Here it i

via Here Is a List of All the Assholes Handsome Law-Abiding Citizens Who Own Guns Some People in New York City.

Call me old school, call me a concern troll, call me whatever. But this strikes me as just plain stupid. If you are so ate up about having to know who owns a gun in some city; then you have a problem of the mental sort. Sorry, it’s how I feel. it is about as stupid as putting Alex Jones on to defend gun rights, I think.

Giffords and Kelly are now gun-grabbers

This is sad, very sad…:

In response to a horrific series of shootings that has sown terror in our communities, victimized tens of thousands of Americans, and left one of its own bleeding and near death in a Tucson parking lot, Congress has done something quite extraordinary — nothing at all.

I was shot in the head while meeting with constituents two years ago today. Since then, my extensive rehabilitation has brought excitement and gratitude to our family. But time and time again, our joy has been diminished by new, all too familiar images of death on television: the breaking news alert, stunned witnesses blinking away tears over unspeakable carnage, another community in mourning. America has seen an astounding 11 mass shootings since a madman used a semiautomatic pistol with an extended ammunition clip to shoot me and kill six others. Gun violence kills more than 30,000 Americans annually.

via Giffords and Kelly: Fighting gun violence.

Jeez…. first Alex Jones going on Morgan’s show and now this.

Earlier, as in a few minutes ago, I had some rather nasty stuff in here. I changed my mind; it’s gone. This is just another example of exploiting a shooting victim, like Brady. It sucks, but it happens.

Roundup is here and here.

Mission Accomplished

I guess my comment hit it’s intended target.

….and the cockroaches are coming out of the woodwork. So far, two comments from Government workers.

I wonder do their bosses know that they comment on blogs during work hours? 😯

One from someone in the Army and one from the court system in Indiana.

Remember folks, I reserve the right to publish comments, complete with IP addresses. Just sayin’….

I respect David Brody, Pat Robertson and CBN, but this is just morbid

How morbid can you be, David?

Guess what folks? Huckabee and Fischer are not alone. There are millions of evangelicals who believe the same thing. This is not heartless. It’s based on the biblical principle of reaping and sowing. Not that these little children sowed anything but are our schools left unprotected because of the past actions of our nation when it comes to removing God from our public schools?

The conversation is now all about banning guns but should the conversation really be about allowing God back into public schools?

Food for thought. It’s a discussion worth having.

via Sandy Hook Shooting: Is It about Banning Guns or Banning God?.

They did nothing to deserve what happened to them. Pat Robertson and David Brody ought to be ashamed.

The only thing worse than using tragic events like the one in Newtown CT for political purposes and that is using it to push a religious agenda. The reason I feel this way, is for a good number of reasons:

  • For one, it cheapens the Gospel of Christ. — It reduces the Gospel of Christ to a level of ridicule that should never be brought against the Christian World. It also turns the name of Jesus into a money-making machine. Pat Roberson and David Brody are a part of a ministry that makes tons of cash and now that tragic event in Newtown is a part of that money machine.
  • Secondly, It cheapens the lives lost in this tragic event and the event itself.  — Every life is precious in the eyes of the Lord, even the little ones and to bring your brand of religion into this; is just morbid.

I think Christians of all stripes really need to reconsider this whole idea that somehow or another Christians need to use tragic events like this to promote their particular brand of Christianity. As a Christian of 30 years — although, I do not always act like it, but I digress — it saddens me to know that there are Christians who actually believe that tragic events like this are good for use as an evangelistic tool and for proselytizing the victims and their families.

Think of it like this: if a Muslim group began to say that the shooting in Newtown, CT was the result of American rejecting Allah and Islam, the Christian right and most of America would be screaming from the rooftops about it. But because it is a Christian saying it, it is okay? Not hardly.

If I were the families of these victims, I would come together as a group and file a lawsuit against the Christian Broadcasting Network and Pat Roberson personally for defaming the families and victims of this horrible tragedy. What has basically happened here, is that every last one of the so-called Evangelical Christian leaders, that has weighed in on this and made these sort of statements has slandered every last one of these families and have inferred that somehow that they are godless heathens and somehow deserved this fate.

As I have written on this blog many times. There is a rottenness in this Country which is exists on the Christian Right and this is a glaring example of it. There is a time and a place for sharing the gospel of Christ; anyone who happens to think that this is one of them, does not worship the same God and Jesus as I do. There is something called about Godly wisdom, and I am afraid that it is sorely lacking in these circles.
