Egypt’s National Council for Women is campaigning against the changes, saying that ‘marginalising and undermining the status of women would negatively affect the country’s human development’.
Dr Mervat al-Talawi, head of the NCW, wrote to the Egyptian People’s Assembly Speaker Dr Saad al-Katatni addressing her concerns.
Egyptian journalist Amro Abdul Samea reported in the al-Ahram newspaper that Talawi complained about the legislations which are being introduced under ‘alleged religious interpretations’.
It seems that Samantha Power has gotten a new job.
“Yid with a Lid” reports:
Only Barack Obama! Today the President tried to show he was a friend of the Jews with a beautifully crafted speech Holocaust Museum. Showing his words mean nothing, also today Samantha Power began work today as chair of President Barack Obama’s new Atrocities Prevention Board. If you don’t remember Ms Power she once called for a US force to invade Israel and force through a “peace settlement.” Powers also had some unflattering things to say about about America’s Jewish population during the 2008 campaign
How long do you think it will be before Powers uses that board as tool to de-legitimize Israel?
Phil Keaggy has been hospitalized due to complications from a recent colonoscopy. We regret that he is unable to be with us this weekend. The good news is, he will be fine. Please pray for him and help us get the word out. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused, especially to those who have traveled to be here tonight for the concert.
I think it would be a good idea for everyone, who loves Keith’s music and Keith himself; to spend a little time in prayer for him.
The survey found that all Christian groups have millennials leaving their ranks. Catholics saw the the biggest drop of nearly 8 percent less millennials identifying with the religion.
Now, 25 percent of those in this age group say they are “religiously unaffiliated.” Nearly 14 percent of millennials have left the religious traditions of their childhoods to become unaffiliated.
“Millennials are much less likely to say they have a personal belief in God like someone you can have a relationship with,” Robert Jones, with the Berkley Center at Georgetown, explained.
I believe there is a reason for this; many of the young people of today, see the utter hypocrisy of Christians today and the lack of separation from the world and they just decide that this sort of Worldly lite Christianity is really not for them. I cannot say that I honestly blame them, if I were in this age group, I would most likely be the same way.
What these young people are making the mistake of doing is this; they basing their beliefs or lack of, on what other people do. Christianity is not about what other people do or, in other words, Christianity is Faith that Christ died on the cross, 2012 years ago for my sins and because of that, I invited him into my heart, when I was 9 years old. I have been saved ever since. What other people do — or do not do — does not affect my walk with the Lord. admittedly, it has been tough for me, I have been wronged by so-called “Christians” in the past. However, I have made the decision, I am not going to stop serving the Lord, because of what other people do.
That, is what these young people have done. The only thing we can do, is pray for them.
Just a personal note of observation; I did not always agree with her and I even once gently criticized her. But, I always respected her opinions —– even if I did not agree with them all. I also noticed another thing too; the commenters over at HotAir.com could be downright brutal with Tina. I believe this was fueled by resentment of a woman blogging at HotAir or something. I never made my criticisms of Tina personal. I simply stated that I disagreed with her. Some of the comments on Tina’s postings were personal, brutal, sexist and nasty. So, I can see why Tina left.
Either way, I wish Tina the best. She is a very smart woman, that I am sure will do well in whatever she does. Tina is also a very, very, beautiful woman; and the man she is going to marry is going to be one lucky guy. I wish him and Tina the very best. 🙂
It was bound to happen, I guess. It seems that I have done something to upset the “Google Gods” and I now find my Google Adsense account suspended. I say this, because this came bounding through my Inbox today:
Hello,
After reviewing our records, we’ve determined that your AdSense account poses a risk of generating invalid activity. Because we have a responsibility to protect our AdWords advertisers from inflated costs due to invalid activity, we’ve found it necessary to disable your AdSense account. Your outstanding balance and Google’s share of the revenue will both be fully refunded back to the affected advertisers.
Please understand that we need to take such steps to maintain the effectiveness of Google’s advertising system, particularly the advertiser-publisher relationship. We understand the inconvenience that this may cause you, and we thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.
I have no clue what they mean by “invalid activity.” I suppose it might be related to my political position, and my boldness to speak my mind on race and the double standard of such things. However, it does appear that Google just took the only sort of income that I have, that actually pay, which is related to this blog. The Amazon stuff has not really paid at all; the guns stuff and the gold, and the other ads are all of the “I get paid, if you buy” kind; so, it looks like good ol’ Google has me by the short hairs.
I will not sit here and yowl on about “Freedom of Speech” or anything stupid like that; Google is a private entity and they are not obligated to offer me service at all. I very well could have written something that offended someone’s liberalism and he or she decided to suspend my account. I filled out an appeal request, but I tend to believe that will be ignored or at the least looked at and rejected.
I am not a whiner; so, I will not sit here and gripe my situation — but I will tell you about how now my parents will have to foot the bill for my medication for ADHD, which runs $50.00 a month. This is because I have no healthcare insurance and that is because I have been jobless, outside of what this blog makes —- for the last 7 years. I blame myself partially for that; and I blame both political parties for stupid decisions that caused this hideous economy, both here in Michigan and nationally.
This might be also a good time to inform you, that if you are a Conservative blogger, be watchful and possibly consider other advertising avenues, as Google seems to be tightening the rules on what they tolerate; they just do not tell you that, they dump you for idiot ambiguous reasons, like this one. Again, I will not call this a “freedom of speech issue,” I call this simply a private company choosing to be selective about whom they do business with, and it is obvious to me, they are not interested in doing business with me any longer.
I think it goes without saying, that if there was ever a time for you to buy a book from my bookstore, or get a gun or some accessories or some gold or silver; or any of the other products in the sidebars —- or just hit my tip jar, this would be a good time to do it. Hopefully, I still have to goodwill amongst some of my readers. I mean, I know I can be a bit of a stickler and can take some unpopular positions — but man, did they have to cut me off at the knees?
Update (September 25, 2012): I am now on Adbrite. In case you are wondering about the ads. 😀
As you all can see, I have not been posting much. It is summer; although for last few days around here, it has been cool for this late in the year. Anyhow, I just do not have much to say; politics is headed toward the general election. The Republican Party is picking a guy, who is not going to get elected. Obama is still an idiot, and I’ve grown bored of it all.
I also got a new handheld for my birthday, which is coming in June, I will be 40 years old. (ugh!) I hope to get some sort of employment this summer. This sitting around crap sucks!
But for now, as the photo shows; I am doing quite a bit of front porch sitting, which I love.
The one thing you must know, when I am right, I will argue about being right, until I am blue in the face or until I drop dead. What I will also do, unlike some of bloggers on the right; is admit when I make a mistake — and yes, I made a big one. I made the common mistake of not fully reading John Derbyshire’s piece, which I, for the most part, pretty much agree with — except one little part. That would be this one here:
(11) The mean intelligence of blacks is much lower than for whites. The least intelligent ten percent of whites have IQs below 81; forty percent of blacks have IQs that low. Only one black in six is more intelligent than the average white; five whites out of six are more intelligent than the average black. These differences show in every test of general cognitive ability that anyone, of any race or nationality, has yet been able to devise. They are reflected in countless everyday situations. “Life is an IQ test.”
I included the links, because, quite bluntly, I hold some of those links in suspicion. Look, I do not like what happened to my Cousin at all; but I am not prepared to say that ALL black people are stupid — because they are black. I just do not agree with that and I do not think that my late Cousin Michael Hill would either.
Folks, I admit it, I blew it here and I blew it badly, for not reading the entire article. Next time, I think I will be a bit more careful in reading articles, like this one; before I toss my support behind it. Again, what happened to my cousin in 1994 was a tragic thing and I think I should mention, that my cousin was not totally blameless either. Were there trigger happy cops involved? Yes. Were they corrupt? Yes. But my cousin could have prevented it from happening, by using a little bit of common sense. All I am saying about that, its a personal family thing and I do not like using family for political stuff. But, I felt this warranted the mention, seeing all this stuff about Trayvon Martin.
Again, my friends, I am very sorry and next time; I will be much more careful about what I support and write about. Also too, a special thanks to Ed Morrissey of HotAir.com and Roy Edroso at Village Voice for pointing out the part of that article that I was not aware of, when I hit publish the first time. Let this be a lesson to me and everyone who sided with this piece; that WE READ THE WHOLE THING before we hit publish! It is a lesson well-learned, at least here anyhow.
Bottom-Line: I reject the accusation of racism by the left. But, I will fully admit to not reading that entire article and then siding with it. Because of that, I can say that I do not agree with the article now fully, neither would my late cousin.
"And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again." (Luke 24:4-7 KJV)
Some Music for the Holiday:
Some Bible:
The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre. Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him. Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre. So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre. And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in. Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie, And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself. Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed. For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead. Then the disciples went away again unto their own home. But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre, And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him. And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away. Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master. Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her. Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord. Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained. But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. — (John 20:1-31 KJV)
