Video: What the Government is doing with your internet and phone calls

My friends, I knew this was big, but I had no idea it was this big. 😯

This video comes via Democracy Now:

Also too, unlike the anti-american idiots at WSJ; no, I do not support this one iota. I agree with Michelle Malkin, it is overreach of the highest order and yes, it is dangerous as hell.

I will say this, as someone who is not much of a Democratic Party supporter anymore; my friends, we might just be witnessing what might just be the end or at least the long-term waylaying of the Democratic Party for a long time to come. I can tell you now, that many Americans who voted for President Obama are feeling like suckers who were sold a bag of lemons. Because from what I have seen, Democrats are absolutely furious about this little revelation.

Here is perfect example: (Via)

Of course, there are stays; my friends, I present to you the biggest damned idiot on television:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=1DePimVb9dY

AllahPundit writes about this moron, and man is he ever right about this guy.

Take it away AP:

Matthews has made this point many times before, usually with references to Horatio Alger, but it feels extra special after a long week of President Perfect completely betraying the Hopenchange ethos of his first presidential campaign. It’s not the cheap racial demagoguery that gets me here; that’s par for the course both for him and his network, where you’ll find far dumber examples of it than this. What gets me is that a guy who’s spent his adult life in politics reacts to the dynamics of ideological differences and partisanship like a college student would. Righties dislike O because he’s a statist liberal, and sometimes an aggressive one; if Hillary wins, she’ll be hated for the same reason. Obama’s personal behavior is better than lots of pols’, but plenty of politicians who are more or less decent people in their personal conduct are roundly hated by the other team. Paul Ryan’s a nice guy with a lovely family whom the lefty commentariat loathes because they think he wants to kill grandma. Marco Rubio also seems like a decent person with a nice family; he’ll be the second coming of Hitler in 2016 to the left if he’s the nominee, his shilling for immigration reform notwithstanding. Many people who know Mitt Romney will tell you he’s a warm, generous guy in person; he’s lived cleanly too, apart from his unforgivable crime of making lots and lots of money in business. (Note Matthews’s reference to “money-grubbing” in the clip. For shame, Mitt.) All of them already are or will be regarded by liberals as monsters, not because they have any deep objection to them as people but because they’re roadblocks on the path to the society liberals want America to be. That’s politics. When you know the way to paradise, everyone in your way is the devil. And every single person reading this grasps that already. So how is it the guy who doesn’t, who shrieks like a five-year-old over political animosities, has his own TV show?

Very well put. Also too, and please know this okay? The only reason I am linking to HotAir.com on this is for following reasons:

  1. Because I happened to see the videos there and I happened to have liked what AllahPundit said.
  2. It is considered in blogging to be unethical to not cite sources of where you get your videos from. Yes, I know, people have used stuff here and no bothered to cite me as the source. It happens. But, I happen to believe in ethics and integrity. Because of this I cite my sources, all the time. I could care less about the hits or lack of; although, I will confess that the trackback links are nice. But, I really do not get a good deal of traffic from HotAir.com. So, the accusations of my link whoring are baseless.

Poop, meet outhouse

I just get done writing one “poop-stinky” hitting the fan blog entry and I stumble upon another one.

Not to get all….um, how do I put it? Oh, scheiß drauf. As the German’s would say — Nicht, um alle jüdischen darüber oder anothing …. ABER!

Oy Vey…..

Go read this one, it’s big. 😯

QOTD: Obama loses the NYT

WOW….just Wow… 😯

Within hours of the disclosure that the federal authorities routinely collect data on phone calls Americans make, regardless of whether they have any bearing on a counterterrorism investigation, the Obama administration issued the same platitude it has offered every time President Obama has been caught overreaching in the use of his powers: Terrorists are a real menace and you should just trust us to deal with them because we have internal mechanisms (that we are not going to tell you about) to make sure we do not violate your rights.

Those reassurances have never been persuasive — whether on secret warrants to scoop up a news agency’s phone records or secret orders to kill an American suspected of terrorism — especially coming from a president who once promised transparency and accountability.

The administration has now lost all credibility on this issue. Mr. Obama is proving the truism that the executive will use any power it is given and very likely abuse it. That is one reason we have long argued that the Patriot Act, enacted in the heat of fear after the 9/11 attacks by members of Congress who mostly had not even read it, was reckless in its assignment of unnecessary and overbroad surveillance powers.

Poop, meet fan.

The US continues spying on phones under Obama

There are a ton of opinions on this subject and we’ll get to those in a moment.

But first the story:

The National Security Agency is currently collecting the telephone records of millions of US customers of Verizon, one of America’s largest telecoms providers, under a top secret court order issued in April.

The order, a copy of which has been obtained by the Guardian, requires Verizon on an “ongoing, daily basis” to give the NSA information on all telephone calls in its systems, both within the US and between the US and other countries.

The document shows for the first time that under the Obama administration the communication records of millions of US citizens are being collected indiscriminately and in bulk – regardless of whether they are suspected of any wrongdoing.

The secret Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (Fisa) granted the order to the FBI on April 25, giving the government unlimited authority to obtain the data for a specified three-month period ending on July 19.

Under the terms of the blanket order, the numbers of both parties on a call are handed over, as is location data, call duration, unique identifiers, and the time and duration of all calls. The contents of the conversation itself are not covered.

via NSA collecting phone records of millions of Verizon customers daily | World news | The Guardian.

But, there is a big difference this time:

Under the Bush administration, officials in security agencies had disclosed to reporters the large-scale collection of call records data by the NSA, but this is the first time significant and top-secret documents have revealed the continuation of the practice on a massive scale under President Obama.

The unlimited nature of the records being handed over to the NSA is extremely unusual. Fisa court orders typically direct the production of records pertaining to a specific named target who is suspected of being an agent of a terrorist group or foreign state, or a finite set of individually named targets.

Which sounds about right for the Democrats, because they are perfectly fine with Government of a massive scale.

Now there are two very important opinions on this subject that I want you to see. They are same political slant; however, the opinions are very different. Please go check out Michelle Malkin’s take and Ed Morrissey’s take on this subject. While I agree on Michelle Malkin’s assessment, I really do not agree with her narrative at all. If you are smart and read her a good deal, you will know what I am talking about.

Now there is one thing that Ed Morrissey wrote that I, as an Independent, and someone who believes that the war on terror is a very real thing and that we should at least try to keep America safe, without trampling on our constitutional rights. I believe this to be very true and  very profound statement coming from someone like Mr. Morrissey:

Hypocrisy is an unfortunately ubiquitous condition in politics, but in the case of NSA seizing Verizon’s phone records, it’s particularly widespread.  Some of the people expressing outrage for the Obama administration’s efforts at data mining had a different attitude toward it when Bush was in office.  Conversely, we’ll see some people defending Obama who considered Bush evil incarnate for the same thing.

Either way, we’re left with the situation of having the federal government seizing private records without any meaningful civil due process that engages the citizens affected, whether that includes actual wiretaps or just cataloguing our calls and movements.  Perhaps this will move this issue out of the partisan sphere and into a common ground in which we can all work to define exactly how far we’re willing to go in trading privacy for security.  In order to get there, we’d all better recognize the hypocrisy that has abounded on this issue for far too long, and start thinking about higher principles than party affiliation when it comes to national security and constitutional protections.

Now that last part that I underlined, is something I wholeheartedly agree with. When the story broke about Bush and Co. came about the wiretaps, I remember Keith Olbermann doing a special comment on it and I admired him for standing up. Now, where’s Keith? Where are the liberals who thought that this was much too intrusive? Where are they now? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

My hat tip goes to Glenn Greenwald for putting principles over partisanship and getting this story to the masses. Glenn has been about the only liberal who has stood up and pointed out that Obama Administration has continued the policies of the George W. Bush Administration and in some cases; like this one here — has expanded them to an alarming degree. Yes, this is overreach and it is alarming and I do hope the Congress does something about it.

UPDATED – It’s official: The Obama Administration is in deep trouble and I am done defending them

My friends, I was very, very wrong and for that, I am terribly sorry. 🙁

I said that I believed that the entire Benghazi, Libya debacle was over-hyped by the Republicans; and I still believe that, to a point.

However, there are many things that have come up since then, which I simply cannot defend.

They are:

  1. The IRS targeting Jewish groups.  – I mean, honestly, what the hell were the IRS and Obama’s people thinking when they let this one happen?
  2. IRS targeting Conservative groups in Washington and Elsewhere. — Did they not know that this would be exposed?
  3. DOJ going after the AP – This is borderline Watergate, so says a watergate player. — Again, what the hell were these people thinking?

My friends, the “Giving the benefit of the doubt” of the President and his Administration by this writer and blogger are over. There is no doubt in my mind that the Obama administration; much like the Administration of George W. Bush, became consumed with a lust for power and abused and exploited the office of President of the United States and the instruments of Governmental office for political purposes.

I leave you with two videos:

Update: Better clip via The American Spectator:

The Democrats have screwed themselves out of ever winning an election; for like oh, maybe the next 2 major election cycles. This is the sad part, Obama and his Administration promised Americans that he would be a clean break from the policies and practices of President George W. Bush and his Administration and sadly, it turns out that Obama and his Administration are just as bad; if not even worse.   As I wrote before, it is sad ending to a Presidency that offered so much to give; but ended up delivering little or nothing at all, in the realm of change.

It is going to be a long, hot, nasty, political summer for America, Americans, Black Liberal Americans and for Washington D.C.. I just hope that cool heads prevail. But, I really do fear the worst in yet to come.

Bloggers and Lawsuits

InstaPundit Points to the following:

SUING BLOGGERS NEARLY ALWAYS BACKFIRES: “Edwin Mellen Press is dropping a wildly unpopular libel lawsuit against a university librarian.”

If you’re thinking of suing a blogger, read this first.

This is why I have a disclaimer.

I’d love to see some Jewish Right-winger sue me for telling the truth about them. I’d counter-sue for millions and clean up. 😀

As a matter of fact, I have a rather good lawsuit against David Horowitz, because of two bloggers, who were in his employment, slandered me once. I might still pursue that one, because is malice involved there; and I know why. Those woman now work for Michelle Malkin, and I could actually include her in the lawsuit, if I wanted to. Could you imagine the media fallout on those people, if I went after them in court for a few hundred million?

I mean, I have not been able to find work, since that was published; and I could very well go into court and state my case; that I was slandered and now, because what was published about me; I cannot find a job. Also too, I could state in court, that these women attacked me and slandered me, because I dared to point out Michelle Malkin’s hypocrisy and went after her for publishing personal information about Graeme Frost’s parents back in 2006.

I believe I have a very tight case against them all. The question is, do I really want to bother with it? Do I really want to try to find a lawyer that would take the case pro-bono or at least take it to be paid, when I win? Also too, is it really worth all that effort, all the hatred that would be for me, like from the blogosphere and from Fox News?

That’s the stuff that I have to consider.

Local Story: Nazi sympathizer gets popped with 18 weapons, 40,000 rounds of ammo and a hit list

I touched on this in my last posting and I am glad to see that they got this turkey:

The Video:

The Story:

Detroit (WXYZ) – In December the FBI arrested a man named Richard Schmidt.  Investigators say he is a Neo-Nazi supporter and  a convicted felon.

Now we are learning the Ohio man may have been planning to target some metro-Detroit leaders.

The FBI recently notified Detroit NAACP President Wendell Anthony and Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit Executive Director Scott Kaufman that their names were on a hit list found in Schmidt’s belongings.

“We get threats all the time in terms of the work that we do…NAACP, Social Justice, Civil Rights…but this was different,” said Anthony.

The FBI says it appears that Schmidt, 47, planned to attack soon.

He should not have had any guns under the law, but when they raided his home and business they found he was heavily armed.

“We owe the FBI and our other law enforcement partners our thanks that they caught this man with 18 firearms- some of them assault weapons, high-capacity magazines, more than 40,000 rounds of ammunition and a bulletproof vest stored in a locked room in a mall, before anyone was hurt,” said Steven M Dettelbach, United States Attorney in a press release.

via FBI: Armed Neo-Nazi supporter put metro-Detroit Jewish and civil rights leaders on a hit list.

I have seen a few comments here and there about this story. I am going to say this about it; it is one thing to have a opinion about Neoconservatives, Wilsonian foreign policy and such. But it is another entirely to be armed to the tooth and have a hit list. Whoever this guy is, it is obvious that he had criminal intentions and did intend to carry them out on these people.

As you all know, I am a right-of-center blogger and I do not usually have much good to say about the United States Government and its various agencies. However, in this instance, the United States Government and the Federal Bureau of Investigation did very well catching this guy before anything bad happened. Again, as I said, it is one thing to dislike a group of people and dislike identity politics and those who traffic in it. It is another entirely to plan out and carry criminal actions of this sort.

I happen to believe in “Rule of Law.” and I happen to believe that this upholding of the law, is a very good thing.

However, I will say this: How is it, that this man was jailed. But, this little Neo-Nazi Here remains a free man, even after scamming as many people as he did? Just asking questions.

On the death of Christopher Dorner

By now I am sure that everyone in America knows about the death of Christopher Dorner. I wanted to write a few words about the man and his actions. Believe me when I tell you, that I am fully aware of the past misdeeds of the Los Angeles Police Dept. So, I can fully empathize with the feelings of those who feel that Dorner was some sort of hero. You see, I had a cousin who shot and killed by three corrupt Detroit cops back in 1994; all of whom were minorities.

But that is where the empathy ends. You see, Dorner made a fatal mistake. Dorner fell for the old lie of the means justify the end. Dorner allowed madness to overtake him. Someone else did this same thing and that was Osama Bin Laden. I wrote about this on my old blog back in 2011:

Radical Islam is, indisputably madness. Osama Bin Laden was the leader, creator and center energy of that madness. Osama Bin Laden wholeheartedly believed that he was doing the work of his god. He was willing to take that madness, of a backward religion that denies the exist of the Lord Jesus Christ —- to his grave. A fitting end of a mad man and his Satanic Religion.

Now, let me be clear, I am not insinuating that Dorner was a Muslim at all. However, I am insinuating that Chris Dorner and Osama Bin Laden did have one thing in common — madness. These two, one on a religious mission and one of the personal vendetta mission allowed madness to dictate to them, and they followed that dictate to their graves.  As for Dorner’s mental state, I cannot comment on that, as I do not know whether he was legally insane or not. I tend to believe that he was not insane, but just a very angry man, who acted out in the worst possible way.

As for rest of it; I believe I will let God sort that all out. It is not my place to judge a man, or a police department. I do believe that this mass shooting will change the way things are done in police work. I believe also, that many police departments around the Country are looking at their personnel files and wondering which ex-employees that they should be concerned with.

Either way, it is truly a sad ending to a sad situation; one that might have been prevented.

Here is a good way to get sued

He is making a good point, but this guy is literally begging to get sued by someone.

VERNAL — When George Burnett first set up shop in Vernal, he knew he had to find away to connect with his adopted community if his custom seat cover business was going to survive.

So, armed with a sandwich board emblazoned with the phrase “Honk If You (Heart) Drilling!,” Burnett took to the corner of 500 East and Main Street and began his one-man crusade to boost the spirit of a community that was getting its first glimpse of another oil and gas bust.

Fast-forward nearly five years and Burnett — now a local celebrity for his tireless support of the Uintah Basin’s energy industry — has launched a new business that’s earning rave reviews just weeks after opening its doors.

“I love this place. I will support this place with every fiber of my being,” said Corey Peterson, a personal trainer who stopped by the I Love Drilling Juice & Smoothie Bar on Monday morning for a thick, green drink filled with avocado, spinach and fresh apple juice.

“It’s a good place to come for lunch,” added customer Shauna Snow, “or for a good snack that’s healthy, not processed and also can give you good nutrients.”

But there is one thing about Burnett’s latest venture that’s left some folks with a bitter taste in their mouths.

“I’m very open about it, very public about it, that I’m going to charge them a little bit more, and I have liberals come in and pay the extra dollar surcharge,” Burnett said, referring to his unique pricing structure.

via Liberal tax leaves bitter taste in some smoothie drinkers’ mouths | ksl.com.

Charging one price to a conservative and another one to a liberal? That is grounds for a discrimination lawsuit. I wonder, would he charge a black man one price and a white man another? The point is, you charge everyone the same or you don’t stay in business, at least not for very long. I am just waiting for some black liberal to come into that shop and get charge a higher price. The lawsuit would be good!

Stupid Conservatives. This is why I quite supporting them. 🙄 Especially when they started lying to the people that voted for them.

It must be nice….

Looks like David Gregory of MSNBC will not be charged with a crime for displaying a high-capacity magazine on TV. William Jacobson at Legal Insurrection has the scoop:

Just released by D.C. Attorney General there will be no prosecution of David Gregory despite a finding that there was a clear violation of the law (emphasis mine):

Having carefully reviewed all of the facts and circumstances of this matter, as it does in every case involving firearms-related offenses or any other potential violation of D.C. law within our criminal jurisdiction, OAG has determined to exercise its prosecutorial discretion to decline to bring criminal charges against Mr. Gregory, who has no criminal record, or any other NBC employee based on the events associated with the December 23,2012 broadcast. OAG has made this determination, despite the clarity of the violation of this important law, because under all of the circumstances here a prosecution would not promote public safety in the District of Columbia nor serve the best interests of the people of the District to whom this office owes its trust.  Influencing our judgment in this case, among other things, is our recognition that the intent of the temporary possession and short display of the magazine was to promote the First Amendment purpose of informing an ongoing public debate about firearms policy in the United States, especially while this subject was foremost in the minds of the public following the previously mentioned events in Connecticut and the President’s speech to the nation about them. There were, however, other legal means available to demonstrate the point and to pursue this line of questioning with the guest that were suggested to NBC and that could have and should have been pursued.

OAG also appreciates that the magazine was immediately returned to the source that NBC understood to be its lawful owner outside of the District and that the magazine in question, with NBC’s assistance, has been surrendered to MPD. OAG also recognizes the cooperation NBC has provided in the investigation of this matter.

Proving that if you rich, white, liberal and you happen to be friends with the DC attorney general; you can pretty much do what you darned well please.

Unbelievable. 🙄 Whatever happened to rule of law? Whatever happened to the justice system in this Country? …and they wonder why people go on these shooting sprees because they are simply pissed off at the Government?
