CNN's Richard Quest busted

Now this here makes for some interesting weekend Blogging. Seeing the only thing in the news right now is the Roman Catholic Church’s chief child molester Pope.

This comes via Glenn Reynolds:

From the New York Post: (of all places!)

This is CNN? Kinky!

CNN personality Richard Quest was busted in Central Park early yesterday with some drugs in his pocket, a rope around his neck that was tied to his genitals, and a sex toy in his boot, law-enforcement sources said.

Quest, 46, was arrested at around 3:40 a.m. after a cop spotted him and another man inside the park near 64th Street, a police source said.

You know, I always knew that dude was a bit….Odd? But this? Holy hell

Of course:

Quest’s lawyer, Alan Abramson, had a much more innocuous version of events.

"Mr. Quest didn’t realize that the park had a curfew," Abramson said. He was simply "returning to his hotel with friends."

Likely Story. Rolling Eyes

From what the article says, he’ll likely skate, seeing he’s got the cash and all.

But man, rope around your neck and your nut sack? Oy…. Hurts just thinking about it! Doh

Sometimes watching Fox News is like shooting fish in a barrel

I’ll tell ya… I don’t know whether to laugh at him and feel sorry for him.

It’s just like being at the scene of a horrible accident. You don’t want to look, but it’s just so damn tempting. SmugRolling Eyes

MSM Lackey gets canned for "profane" sports blogging…

This whole damn story reeks of "WTF???!!"… But it’s true.

Let’s see here, free society, free country, dude looses his job for Blogging and free speech… Huh, just doesn’t add up! I dont know

Some dude got fired, because he outed himself on a "Profane" sports Blog.

Quote:

A Washington Post staffer who had been blogging at a sports-themed Web site apparently lost his job after editors came across some profane-laden postings that also identified him as a Post scribe.

Michael Tunison, who blogged under the name "Christmas Ape" at the "Kissing Suzy Kolber" site, wrote on Wednesday that he had been fired for "bringing discredit to the paper."

To his credit, Tunison said:

Tunison, in an e-mail to E&P on Friday, stated:

"There was no conflict of interest between my writing for Kissing Suzy Kolber and my work for The Washington Post. The blog is not a journalistic endeavor and it is not something I was paid for until I revealed my identity. It is a humor blog about the NFL, whereas my job for the paper was to cover local news in a suburban county outside Washington, D.C. It is beat that has nothing to do with a professional football league.

"I also find it troubling that I was summarily fired for engaging in something that is core to the spirit of The Washington Post: full disclosure. Even if editors had a problem with the language used in the blog, they should have been able to respect that my goal was not to defame The Post, but to be forthcoming with my readers.

If I were Tunison, I’d be seeing me a lawyer. That’s got termination without reasonable cause written all over it.

Oh and yes, I know, I left some snarky comments over there. I was teasing the guy. I wanted him to come look at this post. Big Grin

I wish you the best Mike, Seeing you’ve got the experience, you should be alright.

….and by the way…..

Oh…. man…. that….that….that…would get me in sooooooo much trouble. DroolingSillySurpriseDont tell anyoneDoh

George Stephanopoulos says, "I was doing my Job"

I kind of agree, and I kind of don’t.

via Talking Points Memo

At some point amid the hailstorm of criticism that greeted ABC’s handling of yesterday’s Dem debate, moderator George Stephanopoulos received an email — one of the many, many missives about the debate he’s received — from an Obama adviser.

"Feel like a candidate today?" the adviser asked.

In an interview with me moments ago, Stephanopoulos strongly defended his handling of the debate. He dismissed criticism that it had focused too heavily on "gotcha" questions, arguing that they had gone to the heart of the "electability" that, he said, is forefront in the minds of voters evaluating the two Dems.

"Overall, the questions were tough, fair, relevant, and appropriate," Stephanopoulos argued. And he rejected the claim by many Obama supporters that the debate had been stacked against him, saying Hillary had faced sharp questioning, too.

Today on the campaign trail Obama criticized ABC’s handling of the debate, characterizing it as "the roll out of the Republican campaign against me in November."

Asked to respond, Stephanopoulos said that getting criticized "comes with the territory."

"Our job is to ask the questions," he said. "His job is to go out and win votes."

I think that’s a fair defense myself. That’s not the reason people are ticked, They’re ticked because Hannity planted a question to Stephanopoulos, via his radio show. Which some feel was totally wrong.

Although, I think bringing up Obama’s connection to some 1960’s anti-war guy was a bit lame. If you ask me.

Oooooh Imus….

Not sure if I should laugh, or just shake my head…

Video:

Transcript: (via Media Matters for America)

From the April 17 edition of ABC Radio Networks’ Imus in the Morning:

IMUS: Five minutes after the hour here at the Imus in the Morning program, on the radio all over the country and on RFD-TV, RFD-HD, and prime time. Craig Crawford, from out where the buses don’t run, will be on here in a little bit. George Stephanopoulos, who co-anchored the debate last night. And what I saw of it, I got home a little late, but — of course, I mean, it’s obvious I like him or he wouldn’t be on the program all the time —

McCORD: True.

IMUS: — but I thought he was great.

McCORD: He was.

IMUS: You know, I keep thinking, I mean, he’s been doing this for 10 years. You know, This Week with David, not with David Brinkley, but George Stephanopoulos.

McCORD: Right.

IMUS: But he’s gotten really good.

McCORD: Yup.

IMUS: Charlie Gibson, however. What is the deal with the glasses down on the end of his nose?

McCORD: I don’t —

IMUS: What is this thing? I don’t know. I don’t have my regular glasses [unintelligible], so I have to wear my dark glasses because I don’t — I left the other ones somewhere. But I mean, he’s tedious. Anyway.

McCORD: It’s his attempt to look very professorial.

IMUS: Stephanopoulos I thought was great, and the debate was fine. I thought Senator Obama was on the defensive most of the night. But they’re both sissy boys or sissy girls, or whatever. Because they talk big when they’re out on the campaign trail, wolfing on each other.

McCORD: But then —

IMUS: And then when they show up at the debate, they fold up like a couple of cheap lawn chairs. I mean, I don’t understand that. And he’s almost a bigger pussy than she is.

BERNARD McGUIRK (executive producer): Whoa.

McCORD: Wait a minute. Wait a minute.

IMUS: And then another — and then I was on the treadmill yes– this is kind of funny. I thought it was funny. I was on the treadmill, but I was watching Fox News. And — but I didn’t have the sound on because the sound makes me nervous.

Obama? A Pussy? Nah, he’s no pussy. Tucker Carlson is a pussy. John Kerry is a pussy. William Kristol is a pussy. Michael Goldfarb is a pussy. Terry Jeffrey is a Pussy. But, Obama, Nah, He’s all man. He can’t bowl worth a crap. But he’s got the manly man thing down.

Liberal shill Randi Rhoades Quits Air America

Another big story, the Liberal version of Michelle Malkin has quit Air America.

From what I read, she has gotten a deal with Clear Channel.

Quite frankly, I could give a rip, if I ever heard her on the air again.  She brings nothing, at all, to the Political discourse in America. She’s a hater. I cannot stand her kind of liberalism…..and this is from someone who listens to Stephanie Miller on a regular basis.

The Progressive movement just doesn’t need people like her. If it is to be taken seriously. That is, if it even is anymore, seeing how Hillary is destroying the movement. Just sayin’.  Nerd

Chris Matthews makes New York Times Magazine

As much as I hate to admit it, I like the guy…..and I’ll explain why.

The article:  Chris Matthews, Seriously. (O.K., Not That Seriously.) by MARK LEIBOVICH (via New York Times Magazine)

Quote:

Whenever Chris Matthews says something he likes, which happens a lot, he repeats it often and at volumes suggesting a speaker who feels insufficiently listened to at times. “Tim Russert finally reeled the big marlin into the boat tonight,” Matthews yelled — nine times, on and off the air, after a Democratic debate that Russert moderated with Brian Williams in late February at Cleveland State University. Matthews believed that Russert (the fisherman) had finally succeeded in getting Hillary Clinton (the marlin) to admit that she was wrong to vote in favor of the Iraq war resolution in 2002. “We’ve been trolling for that marlin for what, a year now?” Matthews said to Russert.

The reason why I happen to like Chris Matthews is because he has a redeeming quality. The quality is, that no one, I don’t care who they are, cannot sell a line of B.S. to Chris Matthew’s, He just doesn’t let it happen. Michelle Malkin went on his show and tried it, and Chris Matthews made her look like an idiot. Needless to say, she never went back there.

As he does say on his show, he is tough, fearless and blunt. In fact, Media Matters for America AND Media Research Center both, have expressed their disdain for the guy. I mean, how many people can say, that they have effectively pissed off both Liberals AND Conservatives? Not many.

There’s one part of this story that I refuse to believe, because it’s just too unbelievable.

Quote:

According to people at NBC, Matthews has not been shy in voicing his resentment of Olbermann. Nor, according to network sources, has Olbermann bothered to hide his low regard for Matthews, although when I spoke to him, Olbermann denied any personal animosity toward Matthews and told me that he appreciates his "John Madden-like enthusiasm for politics."

I’m sorry, I just do not buy this at all. Keith Olbermann is professional of the highest order. I do not believe for one minute that Olbermann and Matthews have any problems at all.  In fact, I tend to believe that they get along great, I also think they tend to agree much more than people know.  I mean, how else would Olbermann get away with using Matthew’s trademark "Ha!" on his OddBall segment? It just does not add up. I tend to believe that the author of this article either doesn’t watch Keith’s show or just was reporting on gossip. Do you think that Matthew’s would allow his voice to be parodied, if he didn’t like someone? I highly doubt that, Matthews is not that stupid.

I recommend reading the article, it’s a bit long and it basically exposes Chris Matthew’s faults and his good points. It was handled fairly and honestly, and I think that is what Chris would want.

Chris Matthews has written some books, might want to pick one up:
