Exit Question #1: Is this the beginning of the left’s mocking of Obama?
Exit Question #2: Anyone else, besides me hear that dude with the silly laugh? He stuck out, I’m sure you did.

Sarah Palin has lost it and her chances of being elected

Just when you think, that Sarah Palin could not get any lower on the level of stupidity. Something like this comes along. I know many people are wondering why that I wrote the entry earlier about the far right and me; it is stuff like this here.

The Video:

The Transcript:

Humphries: Sarah Palin here on the Rusty Humphries Show. One of the questions Jason asks is would you make the birth certificate an issue if you ran?

Palin: I think the public rightly is still making it an issue. I don’t have a problem with that. I don’t know if I would have to bothered to make it an issue because I think there are enough members of the electorate that still want answers.

Humphries: Do you think it’s a fair question to be looking at?

Palin: I think it’s a fair question just like I think past associations and past voting records. All of that is fair game. You know, I’ve got to tell you too, I think our campaign, the McCain-Palin campaign didn’t do a good enough job in that area. We didn’t call out Obama and some of his associates on their records and what their beliefs were, and perhaps what their future plans were, and I don’t think that was fair to voters to not have done our job as candidates and a campaign to bring to light a lot of things that now we’re seeing manifest in the administration.

Sarah Palin’s God-awful grasp of the English Language aside, the woman has veered into territory that even I do not care to defend anymore. I am glad to see that I am not the only one that feels the way. It appears that even Theocratic Blogs like this one agree with me:

The most charitable possible reading of this interview is that Palin is saying “turn about is fair play” and if irrational questions are going to be asked about the birth of her baby, then she will ask irrational questions about the birth the president.

First, President Obama did not ask those questions and so it would not similar for the Republican nominee to ask “birther” questions of him.

Second, for a Christian two wrongs not only don’t make a right, but actually are just more wrong. There is the whole issue of, well, the Golden Rule as well.

Third, asking whether Obama is born in the United States is not a “fair question,” because there is no credible evidence he was not born in the United States. You cannot ask a fair question when your questions is based only on a desire to do damage equal to that done to you by another.

The conservative movement must reject a populism that amounts to mob rule. Our founding fathers believed in reason and hated demagoguery. The notion that it there is any fair way to questions the President’s place of birth is beyond the pale.

Birtherism is insanity and if embraced by our nominee destroy the party of Lincoln, McKinley, Roosevelt, Coolidge, and Reagan.

Palin should clarify this quote quickly, repudiate birtherism, and birtherism as a tactic, or I predict she will be finished as a serious presidential candidate. And she should be.

I agree with the above wholeheartedly. The only people that still believe that Obama is not a citizens are people like Oraly Taitz; who is, by the way, a rabid Zionist and a person who hates anything remotely Arabic; not to mention an conspiracy theorist. This was proven when MSNBC tried to send a driver for her interview with that network and she told the driver to leave, because he had an Arab sounding name.

If Sarah Palin wants to go this road, she is finished with the Republican Party, because that party has no patience for this sort of idiotic nonsense. President Barack Obama is many things, but he is not a terrorist, nor is he an illegal alien. Anyone who still believes this is a damn fool. I think Sarah Palin needs to either issue an apology or leave the political scene for good. If she does not, she will not be even remotely considered a contender for the 2012 election, which, as for as I concerned would be a very good thing. We just do not need a theocratic candidate in the White House at all.

Update: Hmmmmmmm…..

Changes here at PoliticalByline.com

As promised last night, here is the “Special Comment” type of article that I have wanted to write for a while to all of my readers.

This is possibly one of the hardest of articles, which I have ever had to write in my entire life — much less in my time since becoming a political blogger and commentator. Nevertheless, because I do believe in total and transparent honesty, I must not be lack in being forthright with you all.

First, let me say that I have never written dishonestly on this blog, ever. I have written what I felt was the truth in all of my writings here in this blog. However, what I have done is taken my true feelings on a subject and turned up the intensity level to eleven on the amplifier scale. (I hope someone gets that rather humorous reference.) When I first stated writing as a “Right of Center” Blogger, that sort of writing was extremely fun, and I thought to be what I enjoyed doing as a political writer. However, here as of late, I have been seeing some very disturbing trends in the Right Wing Blogosphere and in the Conservative media; that I am just not very comfortable being associated.

When I first started PoliticalByline.com after the hacking of my previous Blog, which was at thepopulistblog.com, I started this blog on the premise that neither of these political parties were political or moral absolutes and I still feel that way now. Yes, my friends, I am a truly a moderate Conservative and I make no apologies for that, at all. What disturbs my greatly at the moment, is that the very word “moderate” within the continuum of the school of Conservatism, is basically a death-keel to anyone who disagrees with the far left. I find this fact to be extremely troubling. I just cannot find it with my realm of reasoning to understand why, if someone like me does not subscribe to some of the more extremist rhetoric emanating from the far right, that somehow I am not considered a bona fide Conservative.

Having said all of the above; let me also say this, my philosophy towards those on the right that I disagree with is this — Do no harm. What I mean by this that is this — even though I do not agree with those, that I have put into my sections called “To the right of me” and “To the Left of Me.” I will not be a thorn in their side, because I happen to believe; that everyone is entitled to their opinions, when it comes to Conservative politics. I might blog on the fact that I disagree with their politics, but it will be a fair and non-personal assessment as to why. I did not start this blog to engage in Blog wars with anyone, of any political stripe. I simply started this blog to give my take on the political events of the day. I also created it to be a direct challenge to those of the far left and their socialist mentality; of which why I switched sides and dropped this idea that I was some sort of a populist. Because I just cannot side with idea that Government is the ultimate solution to the Nation’s problems. Historically, The Democratic Party and the People’s Party that sprung out from it, was a populist movement, which was based the idea on what was for the good of the American people. The problem was that the far left socialists overthrew the Democratic Party and turned that party into a big Government socialist party. Therefore, in essence the Democratic Party became a part “of the people” to a party “of the Government.” That is why I decided to stop supporting and voting for them.

Therefore, this is how things are going to change at this blog. First, I am going to write from a more honest approach. No more seeing what other people, who are Conservatives, and then writing from that standpoint. From here on out, I will be writing how I feel about a subject and that alone — no matter the consequence. Second, you will notice that I did add a blog roll category, and changed one. I have added a “Left of Me” Blog roll, which I do intend to fill will sane voices of those who are to the left of me politically. I also added a category of those who are to right of me politically. This is not to be considered a bad thing at all; this list is just a category of those who I consider to be politically further to the right or left of me. I will be also adding other categories as well; so to distinguish Websites from Blogs.

From here on out, I hope this blog to be less about extremism and talking points and a bit more intelligent and intellectually honest. I want this blog to be a bit less Sean Hannity and a bit more like me or a bit less like Michael Savage, and bit more like me.

I hope that my readers will understand where it is that I am coming from and I hope to keep you all informed and give you all my totally honest, unvarnished opinion on the political events and politics of the day. Because the last thing I ever want to be is accused of “Carrying Water” for a particular party or political group. Because that is not what I intend to be or do for anyone.

As for my Conservatism and what type that I represent, I am fiscally a Conservative. As for my social stance, I tend to lean more to the libertarians. I say this because I find much of the philosophy of the Christian far right to be Nazi-in-nature. I am a Christian and I do have a set of morals that I try to abide by, however I am not particularly interested in forcing my personal morals down the throats of those who do not agree with mine.  As for one’s sexual preference, I do not care what or whom you have sex with behind closed doors. Because of my personal convictions, I do not endorse the Gay lifestyle. However, I will defend your right to do what you wish in the privacy of your own home. Anyone that does anything other than that is a damned religious extremist and they will not have my support. However, because I am a federalist, I believe that gay marriage should ALWAYS be an issue for the states to decide and not an issue for the Federal Government ever.

In closing, that you all understand where I am coming from. I felt the need to write this, after reading some of the sillier nonsense that I had been reading on some blogs. I felt the need to let people know what I was feeling and that I needed to change the way this blog was being presented to the masses. Hence the theme change and now, there will be a change in the tone here. I hope that I will not lose any readers and hope to gain some as well.

Thanks for reading,

-Pat

Coming Later Today: An Announcement of the Future of PoliticalByline.com

A little later today, I will be firing up my handy dandy copy of Microsoft Word 2007 and writing up; what I feel to be a “Special Comment” piece for this blog. As you have noticed, there have been some changes made around here. Well, I am going to explain that and a few other things later today. I’ve been up all night, mostly thinking about how I am going to proceed with this Blog. I will be writing and doing a bit of soul bearing to you, my readers.

Before anyone e-mails me; No, I am not going away. But I am going to do things a bit differently. I will explain more later, I promise.

Stay Tuned.

Prayers needed for the Morrissey Family

Some Sad News to report: (H/T Little Miss Attila)

Received an email from Fausta that Ed Morrissey, our good friend (and Blogfather) from Hot Air has had to rush his dear First Mate to the Emergency Room, apparently due to complications with the flu. Regular Hot Air readers know that Marcia Morrissey has fought a manful battle for her health -one that has included multiple kidney transplants- so clearly, the flu is a real danger to her. Please keep Ed and Marcia in you prayers.

via Prayers for Captain’s First Mate » The Anchoress | A First Things Blog.

Politics and political debate are one thing, real life is another. I have not always agreed with Ed Morrissey and have from time to time busted his chops, when I thought he was being unfair; I can say without hesitation that I have always thought Ed Morrissey to be one of the saner and honorable voices on the right. My most heartfelt prayers go out to Ed, his wife, his Daughter and extended families tonight.

Keep the faith Ed, this too shall pass. God Bless you my friend and I will be praying here in Detroit.

HuckPAC Loses it's Arkansas coordinator

I sort of knew that this sort of a thing was coming:

As I mentioned this morning, I resigned my position as Arkansas coordinator for HuckPAC today where I served in a volunteer capacity. My departure was with a heavy heart but was done after serious prayer and consideration. Some have asked about the timing. As most could imagine, the recent news of the last two days along with the response did play a role in this decision but was not the sole factor.

I may say more in the coming days but for now I will leave it at this. I still firmly believe in the ideals and principles championed by Gov. Mike Huckabee

via HuckPAC Resignation | The Tolbert Report.

God Bless that man. Sometimes the hardest decisions to make in one’s life are the right ones. I wish this man well; and I hope that he finds a candidate that he can stand behind.  As for Mike Huckabee, he is toast. I do not look for that show of his to be on the air much longer either. I mean, how the hell can he even continue to show his face in public? It is truly disgusting.

Politics is like the stock market; a huge gamble — sometimes you win big, sometimes you lose your arse. As for Huckabee, well, let’s just say his stock is greatly diminished — sort of like G.M.’s stock.

Chris Matthews walks the cat backward

Good on Chris Matthews, He quickly realized his gaffe and corrected it.

The Video via News Busters:

Far be it from me to be the one to praise a liberal; but sometimes, it is due. Matthew realized what he has said and the possible implications for it and quickly corrected himself. Honestly? I do not think he meant any sort of malice, it was just a way of putting something; but a way that someone could possibly get offended at. So, he fixed it and good on him for doing so.
