Does that make me a chicken hawk? Hell No. What that makes me is someone who supports our Military, it makes me a Nationalist, who loves America and happens to believe in the doctrine of “what comes around, goes around” and of “If you play with mud, you’re gonna get dirty”.

I posted this, not for some stupid political ploy, not to be clever, but to remind everyone, no matter what your political stripe or conviction or feeling, You are, We are, all Americans. This is our land, and we should, at least once a year, stop and reflect on our freedoms. The freedom to write, the freedom to Pray to whatever God we wish or the freedom to not pray, at all. The freedom to agree, the freedom of dissent or to disagree, the freedom to assemble or simply the freedom to do nothing at all.

Putting partisan Politics aside for just a moment. It seems that a fellow Blogger and human being in the Political scene was shot and wounded in Washington DC. Talking Points Memo has more:
Brian Beutler, a well-known progressive blogger, was shot and seriously injured during a mugging last night in Washington, D.C.
One bullet damaged Beutler’s spleen, and he had it removed during surgery this morning at the Washington Hospital Center. He’s expected to make a “pre-trauma” recovery, which is to say, a completely full recovery.
The shooting was confirmed to us by Tracy Van Slyke, the project director of the Media Consortium, a network of leading progressive news organizations (TPM is a member) for which Beutler is the Washington correspondent.
Some of the details of the incident are still sketchy. According to Van Slyke, Beutler was walking with a friend after leaving a bar in Washington’s Adams Morgan section when the two were confronted by a man demanding their cell phones near 17th Street and Euclid Street.
It’s unclear as yet what happened, but the man fired several shots at Beutler. One bullet hit him in the spleen and he was hit twice in the shoulder. A D.C. police official said he wasn’t aware of any arrests made in connection with the shooting.
Beutler’s companion called 9-11. After getting rushed to the hospital by ambulance, Beutler underwent surgery.
Beutler’s family is with him now at the hospital, and his friends are anxiously keeping track of his recovery.
“He is currently in stable condition, awake and in pain,” Van Slyke wrote in an email to colleagues. “But, true to form, he is already cracking jokes.”
According to Van Slyke, Beutler was supposed to file a piece with the Consortium today. In his first words today to his editor, Adele Stan, he said dryly: “Sorry. I left you high and dry.”
My Thoughts and Prayers are with Brian Beulter and his family today and my hope for a full and speedy recovery. I also hope for a tone of civility among the Conservative Bloggers on this sort of thing.

Allegations that a local Democratic official and her husband were involved in satanic rituals that included shackling people to beds, caging them and depriving them of food and water have horrified county party leaders.
Joy Johnson, 30, a third vice-chairwoman of the Durham County Democratic Party and vice chairwoman of the Young Democrats, was charged Friday with two counts of aiding and abetting.
Her husband, Joseph Scott Craig, 25, was charged with second-degree rape, second-degree kidnapping and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon for an incident in January and another in May.
The two made an appearance in court Monday morning after spending the weekend in the Durham County jail.
Mark McCullough, an assistant district attorney, urged Judge Nancy Gordon to increase Johnson’s bond to $500,000 from the $270,000 set by a magistrate. “Part of the allegations are that satanic worship is part of this case,” McCullough said.
Gordon kept Johnson’s bond at $270,000. Craig’s bond remained at $500,000. Each was ordered to stay away from the accusers. Craig has been charged with beating a man with a cane and a cable cord and assaulting a woman with a wooden cane and raping her.

Over the past weekend I had the pleasure of seeing Disney-Pixar’s new animated movie “WALL-E.” Set in the apocalyptic-lite 28th century, WALL-E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) is a small robot left behind on an abandoned planet Earth, which you discover through a set of video clips has been evacuated due to heavy pollution, brought on by mass consumerism and exploitative big business. His chance encounter with EVE (Extraterrestrial Vegetation Evaluator) is the catalyst for a surprisingly poignant love story that becomes the center of the movie’s plot. Without delving too much into my own personal opinions on the film–this post is not meant to be a review–I thought it was visually stunning, powerful, and deeply touching, and by my estimation the first Disney movie that is more meaningful and enjoyable for adults than for children.
The film has been received warmly by an overwhelming majority of critics, but some on the right are upset about some of the movie’s themes.
Okay, call me a Pseudo Liberal, call me a someone who does not take Politics seriously enough, call whatever you want to call me. But something about this just does not make sense. WALL-E is a cartoon for kids. I thought it was cool how WALL-E would say, “Whoa!” when something would happen to him. I have a buddy, named Matt Gacht, who always says, “Whoa!”, in fact, he used to say it quite a bit.
Anyhow, When I go into a Movie theater to watch a cartoon movie like this, I do not go into this theater, looking for political messages, and those who, do, I’m sorry to say it, and I don’t mean this disrespectfully, but they’re taking their jobs too darn seriously and they are taking their political jobs home with them. Sorry, but I am just not one of those people that believes that every television show or Movie is loaded down with Liberal Propaganda. I leave that sort of Idiotic mentality for the people who follow Alex Jones around frothing at the mouth, looking for the monsters behind the next door.
