Let's say thanks to our troops

You might notice the new thingy on the left there, that says “Let’s say thanks to our troops!” Well, what that is about is this here.  Everyday our American Military serves this Country Faithfully. Right now, we have soldiers serving in two wars. Not matter what you feelings about the events leading up to Iraq, or the fact that we’re even there; one thing that cannot be debated, argued or even dismissed, is the fact that our United States Military is the best, the bravest and the strongest. It is also a fact that they are doing the jobs, that the rest of us will not or cannot do…. and for this the fine men and women serving deserve our praise, honor and respect. Not to be ignored, there are also brave men and women fighting a war, against extremists in Afghanistan, in a country that is increasingly hostile to our presence.

Seeing all of this, I believe that some respect is due. So, I ask you, nicely, to click on the widget on the left and send a nice message to our Military serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Quote of the Day

This is America today—a country that is losing its ability to manufacture things but has to continue to pander to rich Arabs and the Chinese Communists for money just to survive. In addition to our jobs, savings and investments, it looks like our sovereignty and national pride are being sacrificed as part of this process.

Once and a while Carol Platt Liebau writes a damn good entry….

At least this time she did…

Carol Platt Liebau shares a story about how Code Pink goes to; of all places; Iran. Yeah, that’s right freakin’ IRAN.

  • The Country whos “justice” system has passed the death penalty to a woman who killed a man who wanted to rape her in self defense.
  • The Country that allows a penalty called stoning, which is usually used on women and usually for “crimes” such as adultry (it has to be noted that getting raped also counts as adultry and if the rape victim fails to produce several male witnesses who confirm her story, then she is subject to execution by stoning as well, that’s how islamic “law” deals with it.)
  • The Country that doesn’t allow free speech.
  • The Country that doesn’t allow real democracy.
  • The Country which came to be under Khomeini many years ago, doesn’t allow religious freedom (just like all the other islamic countries.)
  • The Country that has supported terrorists in the past and still supports them
  • The Country that wants to start a new Holocaust by wiping Israel off the map.

Yeah, that country.

Damned Communists.  Maybe we’ll get lucky and they’ll come up missing in Iran. The World would be such a better place.

NBC News somehow obtains video show Al-Qaeda handlers coaching 9/11 Hijacker

Something smells awful fishy about this…

The Video: (via Breit Bart)

Okay, what I want to know is, How did NBC obtain this video? Is it just me, or does this seem like an attempt to make these Hijackers seem less like; well, like criminals or even monsters? It sure does strike me as that. After all, MSNBC and NBC both are Liberal News Networks and the man they’ve elected said he would meet with people like these terrorists without conditions.

It just strikes me as very odd.

An Eye Opening C.I.A. Report

An interesting article via Reason Hit & Run about a plane shot down by the Peruvian Air Force. Which had missionaries in it from Michigan.

The quote from this Blog entry that very much I agree with is this: (emphasis mine)

Collateral damage—and let’s face it, that’s how the CIA and federal drug warriors view Veronica and Charity Bowershas always been an accepted part of drug prohibition, but this callous disregard for the loss of life and human rights seems particularly egregious in our foreign interdiction efforts.  See the House of Death case, where federal agents looked the other way while one of their Mexican informants participated in a series of brutal and entirely preventable murders.  See our pre-September 11 anti-narcotics alliance with the Taliban, or our continued drug interdiction aid to Thailand after the government mass executed thousands of suspected drug offenders, sans trial.

Collateral damage. That is how the Government viewed the victims at Waco, Ruby Ridge, The FLDS Children, and every other place that the United States Government; whether directly or indirectly; caused death and/or Destruction. All because some sort of supposed moral law could be upheld.

What this writer has to wonder aloud, how long will it be, before this new messianic President-Elect, will make the fatal mistake of using the Military power of the United States against an United States Citizen, all to uphold a so called, “Moral Law?” If Bill Clinton’s Presidency is any indication, it will be sooner than later.

Blogs 4 Borders is going on long term Hiatus!

It seems that my friends M.J. and Jake are going have to put Blogs for Borders on Long term hiatus, due to a personal financial situation. Hey, it’s tough everywhere right now, including in the world of border security. I know their pain, all too well, this is why I stick up for the middle class on this Blog.

Here’s their “final” Video:

I don’t know if they’ll be back, but until then, you can head on over to their Blog called “Freedom Folks” and check out the latest on the battle against illegal immigration.

Iraq Quietly Fires Fraud Monitors

Something tells me that this is going to be a challenge for the next Administration.

The New York Times is reporting:

The government of Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki is systematically dismissing Iraqi oversight officials, who were installed to fight corruption in Iraqi ministries by order of the American occupation administration, which had hoped to bring Western standards of accountability to the notoriously opaque and graft-ridden bureaucracy here.

The dismissals, which were confirmed by senior Iraqi and American government officials on Sunday and Monday, have come as estimates of official Iraqi corruption have soared. One Iraqi former chief investigator recently testified before Congress that $13 billion in reconstruction funds from the United States had been lost to fraud, embezzlement, theft and waste by Iraqi government officials.

The moves have not been publicly announced by Mr. Maliki’s government, but word of them has begun to circulate through the layers of Iraqi bureaucracy as Parliament prepares to vote on a long-awaited security agreement.

That pact sets the terms for continued American presence here after the United Nations mandate expires Dec. 31, but also amounts to a framework for a steady reduction in that presence. Such a change will undoubtedly lessen American oversight of Iraqi institutions.

While some Iraqi officials defended the dismissals, saying there had been no political motivation, others pointed to the secrecy involved as supporting their view that those removed had lost their posts without good cause. Each of Iraq’s 30 cabinet-level ministries has one inspector general. These oversight officials are supported by varying budgets and staffing. – Read the Rest

As much as I would like to say that this is the first I have heard of this, it is not. CNN did an investigative piece on the corruption in Iraq a good long while back.

As a Paleo-Conservative, who felt that going into Iraq was not a very smart idea, and as someone who now is aware that the intelligence that United States had as a case to go into Iraq was in fact flawed; I believe that the smartest thing that the United States can do as this point is, leave well enough alone.  Because at this point, intervening in a situation such as this, can could cause more harm that good. It would be viewed by the Iraqi Government and to the people of Iraq, as the United States meddling in the affairs of the Iraqi Government. Let the Iraqi Government handle their own internal affairs.

Because honestly, it would reek of hypocrisy, if we began to meddle in the affairs of their internal Government, after all, we have corruption in our Government and you do not see Great Britain meddling in our affairs, do you? Of course not; So the United States should do likewise.  One of the worst mistakes and utter missteps that this Nation ever made, was when we started becoming the Policeman of the World. This happened in World War I, which led to the actions that caused Japan to bomb Pearl Harbor, which lead to World War 2.  This happened in Korea, and in Vietnam. It happened in the first gulf war and now in the second Iraq War. My question to my readers is this, when will the United States finally wake up and realize that they need to stop trying to not only rule their own country, but others as well. Until that happens, we will continue to have wars, that have no legal merit.

It is truly a sad commentary on the United States, but it is a true one, unless of course, you are some sort of Pro-War Neo-Conservative shill.

Uh-Oh: Did Iran test a Nuke on October 25?

(H/T to Protein Wisdom’s Pub)

I hope like hell that this isn’t true. 😮

This story comes from the Jerusalem News Wire:

The Israeli news site Israel Insider reported exclusively Thursday that a seismic event that occurred in Iran October 25 may have been a massive underground nuclear bomb test and not an earthquake.

Israel Insider cited an Iranian nuclear scientist who claims to be working in uranium enrichment for the project.

According to the news site, the “quake” was the second one in “a series” – the first having occurred just four days ago, and less than 5 km from the epicenter of last weekend’s tremor.

If nuclear tests are taking place then the area appears to have been carefully chosen to disguise the fact. It is reportedly exposed to significant seismic activity but a recent spike there reportedly deviates from historical trends.

Israeli leaders across the board have vowed that Iran will never be allowed to get its hands on a nuclear weapon. Analysts believe the Jewish state will not wait much longer before it strikes.

The Iranians have defiantly insisted that they will pursue nukes even as they openly declare their support for the destruction of Israel.

Like I said above, I hope like the dickens that this just is not true and that it is some sort of B.S. Propaganda or something. I will monitor the situation and see what I can come up with.

Stay Tuned….

Update: So far the only other place, that this is popping up, is on another Pro-Israel website called Israel National News. At this point, I think it would be best to just take this with a grain of salt, because it could be just anti-Iranian propaganda being pushed to start a war or just to raise suspicions or tensions. So, at this point I’d advise any Blogger, with any common sense, to show some restraint.
