A startling and sobering reminder

It comes from a Magazine’s Blog that I keep in my RSS feeds.

I keep Chronicles Magazine’s Blog in iGoogle, because I like to read traditional Conservative writings. These writings are a welcome alternative to the Neo-Conservative blather that comes from some of the more popular Conservative blogs out there. Although, I will be the first to admit, many Conservative Blogs now are really getting back to their true Conservative roots, now that Obama is in the White House. Some of the blogs, admittedly attack Obama just for the sake of attacking a Democrat, some however, like Lew Rockwell and others like him, attack Obama for legit reasons.

Having said all the above, here’s an entry by Clyde N. Wilson, which makes a very valid and quite sobering point; which only reinforces my feeling that big Government is just not good Government.

Clyde Writes in an entry titled, “It can’t be repeated too often”:

Ruby Ridge.  Your President George H.W. Bush sent a foreign assassin to murder (from hiding) an American woman standing in the door of her own home holding her baby.

Waco.  Your President Clinton sent a military expedition to incinerate children who were unfortunate enough to be in company of adults who had offended the federal police apparatus.

9/11.  Your federal government, with a $30 billion intelligence budget, could not prevent a bunch of  unarmed felaheen (who should not even have been in the country to begin with) from killing over 3,000 people in our economic capital and destroying part of the military headquarters of our vaunted global empire.

Iraq.  Your President Bush Minor lied to justify a failed war of agression.  He sent the forces into an unnecessary war with inadequate equipment, despite a multibillion-dollar “defense” budget, and without a viable plan.

Many American citizens, probably in the thousands, have been murdered and otherwise victimised by illegal aliens because of your presidents’ deliberate decision not to enforce the laws, in order to put the interests of foreign politicians and domestic rich people over the welfare of citizens.

The Supreme Court and the federal bench for more than a half-century now have been dominated by evil people, unscrupulous petty tyrants, who have subverted the Constitution and laws, protected criminals from punishment, interfered in countless matters that are none of their business, overturned solemn decisions of the majority, and placed unjust burdens upon the people.

Nobody has ever been reprimanded (as far as I know), much less fired or punished for the above.

Not only is Clyde right on about this; there are two points can be taken away from the quote above.  That truth is this:

  1. We never really punish our political leaders, some would say because the President is merely a puppet, being controlled by the bank cartels.
  2. Big centralized Government has never been, nor will it ever be, a good thing; it is bound to make screw ups, some small, and some, as presented above, quite large.

The Economist on Coulters sliding book sales

The Economist writes about Ann Coulter’s sinking book sales:

It’s a cultural sea change! Well, alright—it’s a steep decline in the fortunes of one conservative pundit, and one of the reasons for it may be the proliferation of other, angrier, or more specific conservative pundits such as Bernard Goldberg (media-bashing), Michael Savage (xenophobia), and John Ziegler (worship of Sarah Palin). A decade ago, Ms Coulter was the family doctor who made house calls. Now the kids are grown up and they need to see specialists for their needs.

I think also it’s just the plain fact that Coulter’s shtick has worn thin. I mean, getting on TV and dressing like a two dollar whore; all the while promoting Conservative ideas, has just worn thin with many people. Except for maybe her hardcore fans, which, every time she creates another stir, become less and less.

Do not misunderstand me here, Coulter is a pretty woman and quite smart. She would so much prettier, if she covered up and actually used that Cornell Degree brain of hers, for something besides a hat rack and hair holder.

Americans are beginning to see the light on Obama

This could be a good sign….:

It is simply wrong for commentators to continue to focus on President Barack Obama’s high levels of popularity, and to conclude that these are indicative of high levels of public confidence in the work of his administration. Indeed, a detailed look at recent survey data shows that the opposite is most likely true. The American people are coming to express increasingly significant doubts about his initiatives, and most likely support a different agenda and different policies from those that the Obama administration has advanced.

Polling data show that Mr. Obama’s approval rating is dropping and is below where George W. Bush was in an analogous period in 2001. Rasmussen Reports data shows that Mr. Obama’s net presidential approval rating — which is calculated by subtracting the number who strongly disapprove from the number who strongly approve — is just six, his lowest rating to date.

[Obama’s Poll Numbers Are Falling to Earth] M.E. Cohen

Overall, Rasmussen Reports shows a 56%-43% approval, with a third strongly disapproving of the president’s performance. This is a substantial degree of polarization so early in the administration. Mr. Obama has lost virtually all of his Republican support and a good part of his Independent support, and the trend is decidedly negative.

A detailed examination of presidential popularity after 50 days on the job similarly demonstrates a substantial drop in presidential approval relative to other elected presidents in the 20th and 21st centuries. The reason for this decline most likely has to do with doubts about the administration’s policies and their impact on peoples’ lives.

I predict that this is only going to get worse, as Americans see that the “Magic Moonbat” is not the Savior of the world, like everyone seems to believe that he is.

Things are finally beginning to look up. 😀

An Interesting Movie

I post this because I believe that it is interesting. Alex Jones has always struck me as a kook. Someone amongst the “Tin Foil Hat” crowd. However, it is something interesting to watch.

Enjoy…

What do you think? Do you think that there is any truth to this?

RedState Update on “Who Leads The Republican Party?”

I still think these guys are quite funny.

The reaction to Steele and McCain is funny. Sometimes, humor can be cruelHee hee

But they didn’t mention Sanford. Who’s really taking the heat for his comments about the Stimulus Package. I hate to say it, he was right, I also liked his response to Clyburn’s stupidity.

On Britney’s Video

I noticed over on HotAir that AllahPundit is tweaking Britney’s New Video for the song, “If U seek Amy”. Which goes a long way to try and make a rather silly play on words to supposedly convey a message.

First up, the said video:

youtube placeholder image

AllahPundit didn’t get this, neither did the people at MTV either; even the Liberal LA Times did not get it! Man, wow.. does a basement dweller like me have to explain to these brain-dead idiots what the video was doing? Good Grief.

Okay, here’s the official Political Byline explanation to the Video. The two bookended clips at the beginning should have given it away. If you move the video to the 2:10 mark. Mute the sound. Watch her come out of the house with the pie in hand. What is the first thing that comes to your mind. Wholesome? Traditional? Family Values? Fox News? Conservative? Republican? Hello?!?!

The video was nothing more, than a tweaking the nose of the Conservative Media which had this silly head exploding reaction to the songs meaning. Especially those over at Fox News, of whom berated her over the song. Which I sort of thought was quite hypocritical, because of the “B roll” Footage of half naked women that Bill O’ Just loves to roll when he gets a scandal involving sex or women.

The Fox News Clip in question:

For the record, I am not much of a Britney Spears fan or anything. Hell, I am 36 years old ya’ll. Brit-Brit’s music is a little out of my age range. Hee hee

Which leads me to my second point. None of this sort of stuff is new, rock (or in Brit’s case, Pop) musicians have been pushing the envelope for years. Take for example, Black Sabbath; especially during the Ozzy era, back in the 1970’s, lyrics some those songs really got many a Fundamentalist Christian’s heart to racing.

Some examples:

Lyrics:

Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath

What is this that stands before me?
Figure in black which points at me
Turn around quick, and start to run
Find out I’m the chosen one
Oh nooo!

Big black shape with eyes of fire
Telling people their desire
Satan’s sitting there, he’s smiling
Watches those flames get higher and higher
Oh no, no, please God help me!

Is it the end, my friend?
Satan’s coming ’round the bend
People running ’cause they’re scared
The people better go and beware!
No, no, please, no!

Lyrics:

N.I.B. (Which By the way, stood for Nativity In Black, but was shortened due to negative feedback from the Record label!)

By Black Sabbath

Oh yeah!

Some people say my love cannot be true
Please believe me, my love, and I’ll show you
I will give you those things you thought unreal
The sun, the moon, the stars all bear my seal

Oh yeah!

Follow me now and you will not regret
Leaving the life you led before we met
You are the first to have this love of mine
Forever with me ’till the end of time
Your love for me has just got to be real
Before you know the way I’m going to feel
I’m going to feel
I’m going to feel

Oh yeah!

Now I have you with me, under my power
Our love grows stronger now with every hour
Look into my eyes, you will see who I am
My name is Lucifer, please take my hand

So, the way I see, as an older guy. This is nothing new, at all. I mean, there are some grown men running around that have families, that used to listen to this music above, some own businesses too. So, that whole argument that Brit-Brit is going to cause the social decline in this country is, quite frankly, silly. Truth is, it has been on the decline for years, and I highly doubt this song is going to speed it up or slow it down any. Neither is Fox News.

Although, I must confess the “Ho Ho Hee Hee Ha Ha” in the song was quite funny. Hee hee

Steele-Gate further explored

I have been reading the blog entries on the new Michael Steele Meme, that is now burning up the internet.

This issue has been the very reason, that I have flatly refused to join the Republican Party. Michael Steele was essentially mouthing the Libertarian position on abortion. Which is a woman has the right to do with her body, what she pleases. Which is what I feel. For the record, I believe abortion is murder; however, I find it quite ironic that those who preach and fight for limited Government, insist that the Government control of what a woman does with her body. The Religious Argument is that, ultimately; God is the creator of all Babies/Humans/Life. Which is fine, that argument works within the confines of a Church or Religious setting.  The problem is, that argument does NOT work outside of this setting and those who defend this mindset are borderline fascists, who want to force THEIR belief system down the throats of those who are not necessarily in agreement that there is even a God, at all.

Again, Abortion is a MORAL issue, it should never, ever, ever be a legislative issue. America was settled and founded as a Republic, not as a Theocracy; as what many of these “Pro-Lifers” want American to be.  That Republic paid a homage to the “God”, albeit a rather lame homage, but still it was there. It was never intended to signal that America was a Theocracy, ever.

Abortion, I feel, should have never been legalized in the first place; however, it was. We do not live in a utopain society, laws passed by the SCOTUS are a reflection of Society in General; and we must, as Americans respect those laws, least we fall into the trap of becoming an intolerant or Nazi state.

This issue is a perfect, clear cut, example of why Politics and Religion or Religious views should never, ever be mixed.
