Short Film: Radio Hams

This film, which was shot by the MGM studios in 1939; is a specialty film promoting Amateur Radio. As some of you know, my other hobby is, in fact, Amateur Radio.

This is a short subject film from 1939. It was directed and Produced by the iconic Pete Smith.

Neat old movie eh? The story is quite true, the Camera man was really a camera man. Now as for the plane pilot, I have not been able to dig up his information. Maybe some of you can do that.

As for Amateur Radio; we’re not winding coils any longer and Morse Code is not really required to get a license, But as this recent CNN article shows, we are still there, when all else fails. However, we still do build our own antennas, and some people who are much smarter and craftier than I will ever be, build their own amps, tuners, and all sorts of other things.

The flagship organization of Amateur Radio in the United States is the American Radio Relay League, otherwise known as The National Association of Amateur Radio. The A.R.R.L., as it is called was founded way back in 1914; you know, when the world was still in black and white and wheels were square? — Oh I kid! 😀  But the League does do some very good things for we weirdos who like to string wires and try to send RF signals into the sky. Here is a look at the A.R.R.L.’s Station and Antenna farm. In case you are wondering, no, I do not have an antenna farm like that and two; No, I am not a member of the ARRL at the moment. But you can change that! IYKWIMAITYD. Lifetime Membership is $975 plus $50.00 for a plaque. Hey, it beats $39 bucks a year! 🙄

Also, my radio is down too. So, I really have not been that active, except on the local VHF repeater here. But you can change that too! IYKWIMAITYD!

I think Chris Hitchens said this once, and I agree with him; if I were a person that made that kind of moral choice, I think I’d have to kill myself. But these guys not only don’t kill themselves, they go out in public ranting about how wronged they are and how they’ve been fucked over by the evil New York Times for airing out their dirty laundry. Again, I admire the balls, but seriously, they must know the game is almost up. Sooner or later people are going to catch on, the state is going to make a move, and there’s going to be a hell of a lot of church property going up for auction along with the seized Escalades of DEA-busted drug dealers. Or maybe not in this lifetime — but one can only hope.

People like Alberto Rivera, whom they killed, when they could not silence him. Nobody and I do mean, Nobody could ever make that much stuff up. He was on inside and came out. Not to mention Charles Chiniquy another man who the Lord opened his eyes and showed just how awful that sin-depraved Church was. Another man, who left. The Jesuits did not kill him, because he was too big and it would have caused suspicion.

Yeesh... Now that is what I call over the top. Yeah, I know, I’ve done the same thing myself here. But it is one thing to be a lowly blogger, such as myself here. But it is another entirely to be a broadcaster with a huge bully pulpit like what Malloy has got there. What he did here was totally wrong, and he should be shamed for it publicly.

The reference to the “Murrah federal building explosion” which Malloy and rest of his idiot liberal friends blame on the Conservatives and Christians; when, in fact, Timothy McVeigh was NOT a Christian or a Conservative is a dishonest one —– McVeigh was a Conspiracy Theorist and was angry about the Waco tragedy, which was brought on by the Clinton Administration. How ironic that they attack the right, for something that was created by their own leaders. If I were one of those uncouth bloggers, I would say I hope the next “Murrah federal building explosion” happened not in a public building; but perhaps at his office or maybe even his house. But I have much more class than Malloy. 🙄

Another fine point to put on this is; this shows how desperate the Left media is,Obama’s Poll numbers are tanking, America is waking up to the fact that they have been sold a bag of lemons and now the left wing media is in full on attack mode of everything Conservative. It is a sad thing to watch, but it is a horrible byproduct of overselling someone, who quite obviously to me and rest of American, who doesn’t have their nose square up Obama’s behind, not qualified to be in the office of the President. Quite simply, it is what happens when you elected based upon racial entitlement. Detroit learned that lesson with family entitlement, with the whole Kilpatrick fiasco. Just as well, America is about to learn that same lesson with racial entitlement.

LAS VEGAS – A Nevada asphalt contractor who faces a legal challenge to his Tea Party of Nevada candidacy for U.S. Senate was hit Friday with felony theft and bad check charges in Las Vegas that allege he bounced a $5,000 business check last year.

Scott Ashjian is one of a record 22 candidates, including 12 Republicans, running for the seat held by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who is seeking a fifth term.

Bernie Zadrowski, head of the Clark County district attorney's office bad check unit, said he would seek an arrest warrant Monday in Las Vegas Justice Court. Ashjian could face up to 14 years in state prison if convicted.

A Twitter Troll goes after Sarah Palin

Now before anyone gets any kind of weird ideas. I am not defending the said party here. I am simply pointing out what is going on.

It appears that, what is known in Web 2.0-speak, as a “Twitter Troll” has began attacking Sarah Palin posting threats and other silly stuff, Patterico has the story and the offending “tweets”:

I had hoped to post about 20 screenshots from this guy’s Twitter account, but with the technical work being done on the site I find myself suddenly unable to upload images. So I will just quote you the messages. He posted most of them tonight, and they include messages like this:

Again, let me be clear, (Before my teleprompter breaks and I forget what to say… 😯 😉 😛 😀 ) I am not defending this idiot. But I very highly doubt that this person, whomever he is and conversely, I very highly doubt that is this persons real name; anyhow, I doubt that he is even threat to anyone, other than himself. I do agree that it is wrong, and I do agree that the media should be covering it more. But the part of me that has more common sense that, say, looks; tends to believe that this guy is nothing more than some idiot twitter troll who is looking for attention. I mean, just look at the dude’s profile on twitter. He has all of 26 followers and is following all of about 24, and he also has no profile pic. In the world of twitter, that is usually a good sign that he is, 1.) A troll, 2.) A Spammer or 3.) New.

Another thing that I feel should be pointed out. The reason why the FBI and the MSM are not covering this, unlike, say, President Obama is this; Sarah Palin is now a private citizen and Barack Obama is now the leader of the free world; well, at least the President of the United States. 😉  So, while it might interesting to those of us, who are opposed to the socialism of the Democrats, I am afraid you will be waiting a long time, before the media goes into what I like to call, “Foaming at the mouth mode” about something like this there.

Again, I am not defending the idiot. I just wanted to point out some of the obvious things to me here.

David Frum gets fired

Yes, it is true. David Frum got released from The National Center for Policy Analysis. Now, if you will pardon me, while I try to stifle a giggle. You see, I have not forgotten about how he spoke about those, especially the Paleo-Conservatives; who disagreed with Bush on the Iraq War.

The way I see it, this is nothing more than sweet justice. Believe you me, I am not the only one who feels this way.

However, on the other hand. I did agree, to a certain extent, with his assessment, as to why the right lost their battle in the healthcare debate.  However, I felt it was more because of the idiot and quite repugnant behavior of some of the Tea Party folks.

Either way, in these rough times, I do not like the idea of someone being set out in the cold. However, I do not look for Frum to be unemployed for very long at all. David Frum is a very public name and I tend to believe that there will be someone there at the ready, to put the man back to work. That is, if you consider sitting at a keyboard and writing your opinion on a website; actual work. I am quite sorry to have to say this; but this, what I am doing right now, is NOT REAL WORK.

Real work is driving a 53 ft. Semi truck all over the damned Country for little pay and on little sleep. Real work is driving a 24ft straight truck, loading and unloading Pallets off of a truck with manual hand jack. Real work is getting up at 4 o’clock in the morning and working from 5 o’clock in the morning till 5 o’clock in the evening. Real work is working your tail off in a foundry somewhere hammering out a product for your boss and trying to make a living for your family and feeding your children. Real work is loading and unloading trucks on a dock, while your punk boss yells at you for being too slow. Real work is working on a assembly line, and trying to keep up, while the boss speeds up the line. What I, and the rest of the idiots do in this Blogosphere; is not real work at all. However, I do write for some of those people. Those who are not Republicans; but are just damned tired of the Government taking their hard earned money, all to pay for some welfare queen to live “High on the hog”, while the rest of American actually has to work for a living.

So, yes, as you can tell, I come from that background. Let’s just say that I have been there and done that. I do not have some sort of idiotic degree; but rather I have something that David Frum does not have. I actually have life experience. I have actually worked for a living, and I have a royally screwed up back and knees to show for it. But this, real work? Please. I have done real work and this is not nothing like real work.
