Video: RNC’s Ron Paul tribute

This comes via Mediaite’s Andrew Kirell, who calls it an “Epic Fail”:

Now, personally, I watched it; and I did not think that it was that overly horrible.  Still just the same, Andrew rightfully does point out the following:

The tribute did make slight nods to Paul’s belief in sound money and his fight to audit the Federal Reserve. But it ignored Paul’s fight to end GOP sacred cows like the costly and futile War on Drugs; his fight to protect civil liberties from executive overreach like the PATRIOT Act; and his battle against an unsustainable foreign policy of “maintaining empire” and playing World Police.

The video also neglected to mention just how Paul would like to cut the deficit.

Instead of the mainstream Republicans’ supposedly “radical” plans to cut from future spending growth, Paul wants to slash budgets left and right… especially the GOP’s sacred-cow national defense. He wants to end all corporate tax loopholes; something the GOP is reluctant to touch. He considers such “pro-business” tax manipulation to be synonymous with crony capitalism.

[….]

The GOP must have thought this video could placate Paul supporters enough to get their vote. Plenty of Republican officials expressed certainty that the Texas congressman will leave the convention fully endorsing the Romney/Ryan ticket. Despite Paul telling Fox’s Neil Cavuto that he has “no plans” to endorse, Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer said she is certain he will hop on the bandwagon.

But that’s just haughty. And wrong. Because until the party actually tries to change instead of occasionally throwing a superficial bone to Paul, then you can expect many of his supporters to maintain a firm position of “not voting for Romney.”

Want proof? Look to the little-reported fact that Paul’s delegates staged a walk-out immediately following the tribute video.

They walked out, and will likely continue to walk out, because the difference between Paul’s following and the GOP’s rank-and-file “Ew, it’s Romney, but we must support him” types is that the former truly believe in consistency and principles, and are wholly interested in maintaining it, while the latter seem blind in their belief that this Romney/Ryan ticket will somehow “save” the country while shutting out the the voices of actual change.

All very valid points, but I do tend to believe, that If I know Ron Paul like I think I do — he most likely is happy that he got any sort of a tribute at all and that his Son Rand is being accepted among the GOP mainstream. The reason I say this is because it was not too long ago that the GOP was headlong into President Bush’s Neoconservative nonsense and people like Ron Paul could not get a word in edgewise, much less a tribute from the GOP. So, I would say that Ron Paul is happy that his message has been accepted this much.

As for Romney my feelings are this here: As some of you might know, I have decided to cast my lot with Mitt Romney. I came to this decision last night, after watching the behavior of the left, when it came to Mia Love and Ann Romney; I mean sometimes, one must say, enough is enough and that I did and I have no regrets at all. I do have some doubts about Romney, but at this point; anything is better than Barack Obama. I mean, the man has been a horrible failure in many areas, even though I did not vote for Obama. I did kind of expect some sort of result from him. However, myself and many others like me in this position — got nothing.

So, I am in for Romney — come hell, high water and hacked blog. I am voting for something who will actually change things — for the good.

Special Comment: I have decided to support Mitt Romney for President of the United States of America

There are times when someone has to take a stand against the forces of evil. There are times when one has to make decision to go against the grain, there are times when one has to look at injustice and has to say aloud; this cannot stand and is not even remotely acceptable.  There are times, when one has to say, “To hell with family,” when one has to say, “To hell with the bigotry of those who want to use Religion as an acid test to one’s ability to Govern the Country.” As a 40-year-old man, who knows that the two previous Presidents have screwed us, when it comes to spending —- I have made a decision for America; and that includes taking a stand against evil.

As much, that I am quite aware of Governor Mitt Romney’s Statism, as much as I know that Mitt Romney said of the big three auto companies, “let them fail,” and then turned right around and lied about it.  As much as I know that Mitt Romney did craft what is now known as “Romneycare,” as much as I have some serious concerns about Mitt Romney’s being a true Conservative and not a RINO —- I have to draw and line in the sand and say loudly, “Enough is enough!”

The reason I am writing this is that I happen to stumble upon the news story of how Liberal Democrat voters are wishing for the death of Ann Romney.  This, in this writer’s opinion is a bridge too far. I watched Ann Romney’s speech last night and I must confess I was very much impressed. I also watched as Mitt Romney humbly sat and listened to Chris Christie sing his praises, not with a smug look on his face or with arrogant smile, but with a look of total humility about him.

Please, do not misunderstand me, I am all for freedom of speech and for the freedom of expression. However, this goes much beyond that; this is just pure evil and as a Christian, I cannot allow this sort of thing to go unchallenged.  My family for doing it may chide me, but I cannot cast my lot with a Presidential Candidate who is not even on the ballet in every state. It just so happens, that this election is the most important in the history of our Nation and because of this, I cannot vote for someone who is not even on the ballot in all 50 States.  For this, I am now officially rescinding my support of Virgil Goode and I am officially declaring my support for Governor Mitt Romney for President of the United States.

One of the things said at the Republican convention is, “We can do better.” Well, I happen to believe that we can do better than a Democratic Party President, whose supporters call for the death of the wife of someone who is running for President of the United States.  It is unacceptable and I cannot sit on the sidelines and not defend decency.

It is said that Democrats fall in love, and Republicans fall in line. Well, I am not falling in line, nor I am a Republican. However, I am someone who is disgusted by the actions of those who support the Party that claims to be an honorable political party. I can assure you, they are not honorable any longer and this sort of stupidity proves that.

So, from now on; I am done sitting on the fence and tired of watching the Democrats and their hypocrisy and doing nothing.  So, as of today, I am officially enlisting in the battle for the soul of America.  I am supporting Mitt Romney.

We can do better.

It is time to fight and I grew up in southwest Detroit! I know all about fighting.

Let’s go.

One of things that I did not like about Andrew Breitbart

…and no, it has zero to do with him being an adopted into a Jewish family.

What it has to do with is this: For some reason, Andrew Breitbart, as shown in this video and linked to by Glenn Reynolds — seemed to believe that America was somehow a Democracy. This is nothing more than a bald-faced lie, created by Big Government statists.  America was NOT founded as a Democracy, Democracies are nothing more than mob rule.

America was founded, as a Constitutional Republic. In fact, anytime any of the founding father’s mentioned Democracies, it was not in glowing terms at all.

Perhaps Glenn Reynolds should watch this video here for a refresher about America’s founding.  The sick part? Reynolds is a supposedly a Constitutional Lawyer.  My question is, which Constitution is he teaching, Venezuela’s? The sick and sad part, is that Reynolds and his friends will pan the video, because it happened to be produced by group that was smeared by the Neocon prince William F. Buckley — Himself a tool of the CIA and the Governmental establishment.

Of course, I do not expect Reynolds to even acknowledge this posting, seeing his Neoconservative friends have blacklisted my blog for linking and even going as far to flag my trackbacks as spam to prevent me from getting any traffic. Which is typical of the NeoCon right, using tactics right out of Saul Alinsky’s book.

Sorry to have to sound so offensive, but this is just one of pet peeves about the Neoconservative right. They have this odd idea that America is a Democracy, when in fact it is not. Remind me again, how are they, being the Neocons —- different than the left again?

I am just saying.

Updated: Open Message to Democrats and to CNN: This racist does not speak for the GOP or Conservatives

Just a bit of news to report, which comes via David Shuster:

And via Allen Colmes and Talking Points Memo:

An attendee at the Republican National Convention in Tampa on Tuesday allegedly threw nuts at a black camerawoman working for CNN and said “This is how we feed animals” before being removed from the convention, a network official confirmed to TPM.

The CNN official declined to confirm specific details of the incident to TPM but generally confirmed an account posted on Twitter by former MSNBC and Current anchor David Shuster: “GOP attendee ejected for throwing nuts at African American CNN camera woman + saying ‘This is how we feed animals.’”

It is not clear whether the alleged culprit was a delegate or attending the convention in some other capacity.

In a written statement, CNN addressed the matter but divulged few details: “CNN can confirm there was an incident directed at an employee inside the Tampa Bay Times Forum earlier this afternoon. CNN worked with convention officials to address this matter and will have no further comment.”

TPM’s calls to RNC and convention officials were not immediately returned.

Okay now, this is where I get involved. This idiot obviously does not speak for the Republican Party, for the Conservative movement, nor the Tea Party movement at all. No more than Lyndon LaRouche speaks for the all the Democrats. They are called strays and both parties have them. So, before anyone starts calling the Republican Party racist, someone needs to set back and think a little.

Furthermore, for all we know, this dude could have been some liberal activist posing as someone in the Republican Party. For the sole purpose of making them look bad. So, don’t even go there, because we are on to you. 😡

Update: CNN is now reporting that it was two people and that has a whole new Meme by the left started. Basically, the left is whining about CNN; because they are not in full-on “OMG! These Republicans are racist!” mode. Maybe it is because CNN happens to be a bit smarter than that, and happens to know that you cannot blame an entire group of people or in this case a political party for the actions of a few stray idiots.  Now this is where I will start yowling on about what has happened to the liberal left in this Country and why I stopped voting for the Democrats. It is because the intellectual honesty of that party and the people who vote that way has gone the way of 8-track tape player. The knee-jerk reaction is to blame the entire party for the actions of two idiots, who were, probably, not even real Republicans in the first place.  It is collectivism, and it is wrong; and it seems, much to their credit, that CNN is just not playing that game. Good for them, for standing up to the neo-left and no playing let’s blame the right for everything game.

Thoughts on the RNC Convention so far

I am watching the RNC Convention over on CSPAN.  Which has a very nice design this year, by the way.

So far, so good. Some of the speakers are very good. Some of them come off sounding like empty-headed mouth breathers.

However, I will continue to watch. I am not voting for Romney, by the way. I am voting for this guy here.

More content to come here, as I check the RSS feeds here.

Terrorists Busted: This time it is Military involved

I saw this story come through my RSS reader and I wanted to wait to see the reaction of the right, before I blogged about it myself.

I have to say that Ace and AllahPundit’s reactions were very good and I commend them for taking the stand that they did. Kudos gents.

Just a quote of the story:

LUDOWICI, Ga. (AP) — Four Army soldiers based in southeast Georgia killed a former comrade and his girlfriend to protect an anarchist militia group they formed that stockpiled assault weapons and plotted a range of anti-government attacks, prosecutors told a judge Monday.

Prosecutors in rural Long County, near the sprawling Army post Fort Stewart, said the militia group of active and former U.S. military members spent at least $87,000 buying guns and bomb components. They allege the group was serious enough to kill two people — former soldier Michael Roark and his 17-year-old girlfriend, Tiffany York — by shooting them in the woods last December in order to keep its plans secret.

“This domestic terrorist organization did not simply plan and talk,” prosecutor Isabel Pauley told a Superior Court judge. “Prior to the murders in this case, the group took action. Evidence shows the group possessed the knowledge, means and motive to carry out their plans.”

One of the Fort Stewart soldiers charged in the case, Pfc. Michael Burnett, also gave testimony that backed up many of the assertions made by prosecutors. The 26-year-old soldier pleaded guilty Monday to manslaughter, illegal gang activity and other charges. He made a deal to cooperate with prosecutors against the three other soldiers.

Prosecutors said the group called itself F.E.A.R., short for Forever Enduring Always Ready. Pauley said authorities don’t know how many members it had.

Now Ace says this:

“Anarchist”? It’s an old trick of the media to call Neo-Nazis “right-wing” but then simply call left-wingers what they identify themselves as. “Anarchists,” for example.

Now, I initially thought these guys had to be right-wing (or what the media terms “right-wing”) because I could not imagine a left-wing motive here.

But a commenter points out the left wing is extremely angry about poor Bradley Manning, America’s Pluckiest Little Traitor.

So I guess that is an open possibility, and would explain the media not immediately calling these guys “rightwing.”

I do find that very suspicious. I find it suspicious that this isn’t the biggest story in the media. If it’s not, there must be a reason the media is in “let’s be restrained here” mode.

A while back, I made a point, that Ace made in his writings quoted above, the last time, when some idiot picked up a gun and decided to act on a political matter; here is what I wrote:

Terrorism is terrorism —- period —- full stop.  It does not matter to me and really should not matter to anyone, whether if it is being carried out by some Muslim, who thinks Jihad means to kill people or some Neo-Nazi, who cannot tell a Sikh from a Muslim.  Whether the crime is being committed by a far right wing militia person or a left wing radical communist — the point is the person is committing a crime.  What also should matter to all Americans, left and right, is that we live in such a lousy hyper-partisan Country these days, that no mainstream media outlets outside of Fox News could be bothered to report this incident.

Which is true in this case too. Those who are even bothering to write about it, are doing something just as bad. They are using this to further the Meme that the Military is full of terrorist creeps like these people here. To me, that is just sad, because not every person in the military is this sort of deranged person.

Another thing too, and I feel the need to say this; because no one else really has — the sad thing about this is that it undermines the efforts of people like Soldiers’ angels and other such groups. People read about stuff like this and in the back of their minds, aided by what they read in the liberal blogosphere; they think, “why would I want to give to people, who do stuff like this here?” It is sick that the liberal left would use an incident like this to create a “Military are terrorists” Meme. But, again, that is your liberal left, of whom, one of their more popular bloggers said of the Military, “Screw Them” which was ironic, considering he was Military himself. But, again, that is the left and that is their attitude towards the Military. Which is one of the reasons why I stopped voting Democratic Party. (Among many!)

Video: Living proof that Liberals are classless buffoons

I saw this earlier, and I did not want to watch it. Because I know the emotions that it would trigger inside of me.

But, I finally did and Yes, it did make me very angry. 😡

Watch MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, the wife-beating drunk acting like a complete and total classless buffoon on National TV.

Later, the Republican chairmen got his revenge: (via Hotair.com)

My feelings are simply this: what does it say about the modern day Democratic Party? When the only thing that they have left, is race-baiting? Their policies have failed, they’re ideas to recover the economy has failed and now all they have left, is smearing anyone that disagrees with them are racist? This is worse than the Neoconservatives, who call anyone who disagrees with them Antisemitic.  Both are equally as lame and ignorant, both cheapen the discussion, and both point to a loss of ideas.

This is another reason, of a litany of reasons, as to why I stopped voting for Democrats. I mean, they are quite obviously desperate and are now hurling anything that will stick. This sort of nonsense was predicted by myself on my old blog way back in 2008, when Obama was elected and now, we are seeing it first hand.

It is amazing to watch. Hope the Democrats enjoy losing, because that is what is going to happen.

No, I am not going to the RNC Convention

I was not even going to blog about it, but I figured I would let all of you know. I really am not going to the Republican Party’s Convention in Tampa, Florida and I will list the reasons why:

  1. My financial  situation – I have not worked in over eight years, I blame the “disconnected from reality” politics of both parties for this; and that is on ALL levels, Federal, State and yes, local. Elections have consequences and because of this, myself and many other people that I know are paying for those stupid votes. So, the funds to go to a convention just are not there at all. End of discussion.
  2. I just do not get into establishment politics at all. – I mean, the idea of someone beating Barack Obama in this election is great and all, but to be honest with you; I have never really fit into the stereotypical “Republican” mold. I am from a working class, middle class, mostly Democratic Party voting family and neighborhood. I loathe that party with every fiber of my being, but I am not exactly smitten with the Republican Party either. Remember, just as recent as 2006, I was still running a “Historic Populist” blog. 7 years ago; Wow…. It really does not seem that long ago — that I was swearing about Bush and his politics; which were really not that Conservative or really even Constitutional.
  3. They all really, truly, hate me with a passion. — It is no secret, that I am truly the black sheep of the so-called “Conservative” blogosphere. This is mainly because of my past of being a former “Left of center” blogger and person. …and you know what? I am fine with that. I never started writing about the things that pissed me off about politics to get any sort of vain glory or popularity. I just did it to talk back to the forces that I thought were hurting this Country. So far, I have made some waves and a few enemies. Again, I am fine with that. Even if I had like a zillion bucks in the bank and could charter a flight to Tampa and had the money to stay in the nicest Hotel — I just would not bother. Hell, I cannot even afford to replace this stupid laptop that decided to wink the dashboard. Not only that, but my Mom has not gotten in a hurry to let me have back the laptop that I royally screwed up, and she managed to fix herself. So, I am still on the old monitor, which sucks to the high heavens, but, what can I do? I don’t have the money to buy a laptop. Which again, sucks. 🙁

However, I can recommend some places to read, with people that WILL be in Tampa.

  • The Other McCain, who’s owner is not really someone I like, but he’s a decent writer and will tell the truth; for the most part anyhow.
  • HotAir.com is the best, hands down, Conservative Blog around. It is in my sidebar and I read the site daily. Someone from HotAir will be there for the show. Which from what I read is going to be shortened a day.

Also too, I am sure Fox News will be there as well. I will be watching that as well. I will also give my feeling about what I see and here on the TV, like everyone else.

So, there you go, what is happening with me and the RNC Convention. If you are going to Tampa, be safe. There is a hurricane churning out at sea. If the Feds tell you to hit the road; by all means, please listen! But from what I have read, it is not expected to be that bad. The RNC is just being cautious and believe it or not, I think that is a very good thing.
